Yep! Arms embargo uplifting, Debt relief, joining the EA economic bloc was all done by the UK. In fact Turkey and the UAE (who were close friends with HSM at the time of the arms embargo) were against Somalia getting arms embargo uplifted.

At the end of the day the UK/USA want to eat from Somalia the way the ate from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc during the 20th century. It’s in our own interest to keep the big boys happy and satisfied untill we get stronger.
