Is Somalia pro Ethiopia?

I've noticed this trend from many Somalia Twitter accounts supporting Ethiopia. When did people from Somalia become so pro Ethiopia. This guy and many others are praying for Abiy to dominate:damedamn:

ive started seeing this sentiment too. people seem to be getting swept up in this whole "pan-horner" stuff that came out of ethiopia, eritrea and somalias increasing friendship.

No doubt the majority of Somalians are pro-Ethiopia and are big fans of Abiy Ahmed. I think I speak for all Somalians when i say, that they would like to see Somalia and Ethiopia unify as one country in the near future

I think they like the Strong Man mentality in Somalia. Whether Italians, Siad Barre, AMISOM, Farmaajo or an Ethiopian ruler. Ethiopia likes to rule over people and dominate them and it looks like Somalians like to be ruled over with an Iron fist.

Yeah it seems like everyone from Somalia is a pro Ethiopian stooge now:mjlol:

In the past, unfortunately, our neighbors took advantage of our instability and profited from it. Somalia today is getting stronger and wiser as each day passes. We should take a different approach and leave the cold war era tactics in the past. We should always be pro peace, nation building and never meddle directly in their affairs. Africa must turn the page and find modern solutions to our never endings conflicts. :)

Sounds like Stockholm Syndrome to me:)

For the time being our interests align. It's really nothing more than that.

I do not think it is even possible for the two countries to be long-term allies as they will inevitably vie to be regional hegemon.

The government of Somalia and every other Somali state are fairly pro Ethiopia as you never hear them getting on their bad side. This probably due to Ethiopia having great influence in the government and having networks over the region ever since the civil war began. But the average Somali is probably anti-Ethiopia.

Somalis are pretty hard to be ruled over. We were nomads made of clans that always fought and competed for land. Prior to colonization, majority of us were never ruled by a foreign entity.

Speak for yourself. We had a rule of law in some parts of what's Somalia today. Like Warsangeli Sultanate and Majeerteenia dating back to 1640.

I meant to be ruled by foreign powers, not that it was completely lawless. Obviously we had xeer.

No friendships, just interest. There are no friends or pro in politics, just permanent interest and alliance based on that.

Abiy's biggest priority is to prevent a recovered Somalia liberating DDSI away from him. My theory is that his two policies to keep Ethiopia united is to 1) Pursue EU style integration with the rest of the Horn and 2) Block Somalia from reuniting with Somaliland

Ah yes, the good ol' tplf excuse. Supposedly our qualms with Ethiopia began with a Tigray military junta which surfaced in the 90s...? Make no mistake, the tplf massacred somalis in Ogaden and Xamar. They're scum who's eradication brings me joy.

That being said, let's take a quick glance at Ethiopian history. Was Menelik, the man who originally stole the galbeed region from us, along with Harar and other areas, apart of the TPLF? Was Haile Selassie, the man whom we fought in 1964 to protect our borders, where Xalane(AUN) died defending the border, tplf? What about the communist derg led by Mengistu, the man we fought in 1977, was he tplf?

A weird section of somalis have propped up. While Farmaajo signs shady tripartite deals, and reports of 4 ports gaining Ethiopian involvement, along with their wish to build a navy, tell me how exactly our 'interests' align? Please, I'm genuinely curious. They have non amisom soldiers committing atrocities in Hiraan and Konfuur Galbeed. We're in a far weaker position to boot. So how do our interests align?

Anyone supporting farmaajo on this shady ethiopian support is potentially dishonest, or extremely naive. Abiy's base is also filled with Amhara supremacists. And the man i on record of wanting some type of unification with Somalia. But please continue on the 'muh tplf ebil11!'. Just know you won't have a country anymore. Cheers
