In my house whenever I do the cooking for the family it seems it makes all the habaryars uncomfortable and they'll call me a chef which they would never do if I was female. Is it that strange?

No, not at all. My father never cooked before and when my mother started nursing school and then became a nurse he started taking lessons from her on weekends. He was a smart man and learned quick. Eventually his cooking rivaled my mother's. He used to clean the entire house every Sunday spic and span from top to bottom. He would buy tools and I would follow him around and he would fix anything broken in the house, he would clean the dishes, vacuum, he would make my younger siblings lunch for the school day every morning, etc.

i used to baby sit for mum too and cook and clean when she goes on holiday, i also started changing nappy aged 9 and showing the my little siblings
Not really. My dad would do the cooking if my mom was unable but his cooking was horrible and but his cleaning was alright. I tended to help out on the cooking but the cleaning was more or less always forced. Don't know about other families.
It's best my dad stays away from the kitchen, he will mix cereal with baris and lettuce.
