if I was trying to argue from the non-Muslim side, I think what I would expect from them is something about "Arab scientific advances" or something

were the ancient Arabs prior to that time going around dissecting bodies and studying all these kinds of things? I don't believe that at all

I'm not disproving anything, however, people in the past were way smarter than we give them credit for. They literally have the same brains as us, only difference is that we have better tools. And even then, most people right now aren't smarter than the average person a couple centuries ago, we may have a different skillset due to different ways of living but in general we are not significantly smarter than our ancestors. People say stuff like "But we have phones and stuff" but how many people know how a phone actually works and how to make and design one? It's not some common knowledge.

People back then could've dissected a body and counted the joints, it is not an easy thing, but some people may have been dedicated enough to do it. Especially scholars who studied science and would have been in contact with bodies. Leonardo da vinci used to dig up graves and research them back in the 1500s so i don't think it's impossible for people in those days.

I know that you are a Muslim, I know that you are not one of these murtad posters, I enjoy a lot of your posts on here. I am sure you are a sincere Muslim.

However, like you said- "BACK IN THE 1500'S".

the 1500's was waaaaaaaay after the early days of Islam. the first hijri year if I'm not mistaken roughly corresponds with 622 in the Western calendar.

another thing is- can you imagine dissecting a body in the Arabian desert back then??????

that's if you even WANT to dissect a body.... I think culturally even the pre-Islamic Arabs would have been shocked and outraged if you said you wanted to mess with someone's body and start dissecting it.....

another thing to is "the science cult".

these days in the West, the scientists have replaced the role the Catholic priests once had in the West. "it's science" becomes a justification for anything. the scientists could decree we should start practicing cannibalism and there would be people gullible enough to go for it.

in the ancient world, Greece had your ancient science.... people. I mean you had some ancient Greeks who were obsessed with science. but the pre-Islamic Arabs? were they really going around obsessed with "muh science"?

I don't believe it at all. and even if you had some circle of Arabs who were science obsessives.... were they really hanging around Prophet Muhammad ﷺ?

it isn't like a couple years ago when people were borderline worshipping "Dr. Fauci" like he was a Messenger of Allah.... nowadays people basically worship science and people back then were not like that.... there was a circle of Arab science obsessives and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ meets with them privately to fact-check his sermons before he delivers them? I seriously do not believe it.... and even if that really happened, the scientists back then had all kinds of weird ideas that no one takes seriously now.... so then the statements and sermons would include all sorts of ancient science that no one believes anymore

another thing I notice is this is coming from Aisha... so it's likely this wasn't even said in public... can you imagine developing cutting edge science of your time just to mention it in a private remark to your wife?

I really encourage people to read this

the Arabs aren't even mentioned.... from what I can tell, if you were at this level of anatomical knowledge- you would have been like the "Sheikh ul Islam" of science in the ancient world... honestly reading the article makes me admire the ancient scientists and their pioneering work.... but have you ever heard of any sahaabi who was noted as being a scientist? you hear about sahaabah being brave warriors, pious worshippers, eloquent poets, etc.... as far as I can tell, there were people who were really into science but they were in ancient greece... another thing is those Greek scientists were really into stuff like Plato and Aristotle.... science and philosophy weren't as distinct back then as they are today... I've actually read Plato's Republic when I was younger... I don't think Islam has any trace of Greek influence.... if they were learning from the Greek science, you would expect to see the influence of things like Greek philosophy
