Hutu and tutsi are 2 different people entirely sharing a country withthe immense hate for each other, as opposed to somalia everyone has the same culture, clans just act as political factions to secure gobol interests. Although i will agree that in the government clan politics shouldnt be employed. The way the founders of the 60 republic i believe they swore never to tell anyone their clans as a way of unity and policies for all not just a polticians reer
And how would that be done since Somalia has 4.5 and how can you hid ur clan since Somalis know each other when a cabinet is formed. We know the clan before we know the persons name lol. Hutu and the Tutsis are the same people that speak the same language and have same culture , they are not two different ethnic groups you know they are closer then you think, Hutu and tutis are just social class, So Somalis also speak the same language and have the same culture yet have different sub cat , it is the same. For example Daroood Isaaq and Hawiye are the same people yet different in clan ancestry look the same eat the same food speak the same language but have different sort the Isaaq and darood are more nomadic where as the Hawiye rahanweyn are more farmers , because their land is good for farming in The hawiye and rahanweyn land. The stage we are in is beyond reversal. There's no going back to genuine nationalism. It will always be a means of exploitation by dishonest actors. I believe the country will balkanize or power share in a manner where all relevant (clan) parties are satisfied. Until then you can expect more of the same. Well, there's also the option where one clan checkmates all others and secure power similar to what the standing president is doing.

Somalis are a nation of tribes, not a nation onto itself. Thus the independent nation-state Somalia is aswell. Not too dismilar from Libya, and to a lesser degree, the more ethnically diverse states of Iraq and Afghanistan. Identity is based on kinship not perceived similarities in language, culture and history. Allegenice is to the tribe over the state and customary law is equivalent to state law.
I agree with you Juke nations are created based on experiance and poltiical culture and identity , and the struggle they endured together and the said mythology they all believe in. Somali is an ethnic group, not a nation state, we were never a nation, we were clans living in the Somali peninsula but we never understood what a state or country is. Though i oppose for example Somaliland independence bid when i see other Somalis telling them Somalinimadi bay diideen. its absurd. They dont oppose their Somaliness they dissagree on how their land is governered it comes down then to politics. So i concur with that. We can argue then Djibouti Somalinimadi may diideen. Langauge and religion doesnt create a nation state doesnt create ingredient for nationalism. Take for example Eritrea a country born out of struggle. their identity is solely based on how they rejected Ethiopia as a whole they are 9 different ethnic groups 9 different languages yes one nation.Not a nation state but hetrogenouse nation. Somali republic shares langauge cutlure food but they dont share a common past or common experiance common mythology for example Somalis cannot even agree on the notion what Somali means is it go and milk soo maal, or is it a Samaale sort of mythological ancestor who fathered all Somalis.
With the current trajectory we are headed towards, we will be further balkanized in the near future and dominated by multiple foreign powers (to a worse extent than now) if we dont wake up and get our act together. We are situated in a very very important and globally advantageous region and we will never be left alone so we either unite and protect our nation and people from foreign meddling or be dominated by multiple foreign powers especially western powers. We live in an age where might makes right and a time where tribalism does not make sense. Divided we all fall or united we stand.

Somali culture is based more on pastoralism compared to rwandan agriculture being dominant, raxanweyn are the only farmers the hawiye are also mostly pastoral. Because of the agriculture society in rwanda they got feudal systems but that doesnt translate to somali society. There is no hierarchy between these peoples they are all equal people. The only lower caste people in somalia are like yibir and madhibaan and etc but they are not as widespread as to become feudal system. The clans are like super extended families that protecting intrest but that doesnt apply i believe to htu and tutsi
Obviously you cant hide your clan i said that badly. I mean by not working for you clan interests by not involving in clan politcs and swearing by it. This what i mean what the syl did

Thats all good and well and i do agree but how will it be done , its so complex Puntland has beef with Mogadishu and cant agree on a constitution Jubbaland is having a stand off with Mogadishu , Somaliland declared independence and are pushing harder for independence by the day. So who will compramise who will make the bigger sacrafice to save the nation is the question and how will it be done.
I have an idea lets make the President of the Somali republic an cadcad the vice president or prime minister a Somali bantu Madowweyne the speaker of Parliament speaker a gabooye another ,5 particulary the clans la yasso by Somalis . and have 3 capitals Garowe Hargeisa and Mogadishu Parliament be seated in Garowe , Goverment be seated in Hargeisa. and the Mogadishu have the naval defense institutions since it on the coast and have the senate there.
