If we ever want to make our Somali republic great

Imagine a world where the clans actually liked each other , in 1960 there was an Ogaden man who was elected in Hargeisa as an MP and i heard there was also an MJ who was mayor of Mogadishu. Imagine if qabil didnt matter really,a cousin of my told me once the Somali conflict will come to an end the day Darood and Isaaq reconcile , the rest will follow there was a time when Abdulahi Yusuf AUN once proposed to Ina Cigaal to create a union between Somaliland and puntland to restore the state. Imagine what could have happened.

Kunn cill how is it a bad idea

It isn’t feasible. You think side lining all the major clans from top positions will bring about harmony? It will cause even greater chaos.

Qabiil is a part of Somali politics, and is here to stay for the foreseeable future. You can’t forcefully remove it from the Somali society or psyche. The only way for Somalia to build a government is a full out democracy with 1man 1vote throughout the country, the representation of all clans/regions in parliament, a non qabiil aligned national army and then the eventual move to building political parties that transcend qabiil. Or an Islamic government that puts the onus of Islam and brotherly unity over qabiil.

I have an idea lets make the President of the Somali republic an cadcad the vice president or prime minister a Somali bantu Madowweyne the speaker of Parliament speaker a gabooye another ,5 particulary the clans la yasso by Somalis . and have 3 capitals Garowe Hargeisa and Mogadishu Parliament be seated in Garowe , Goverment be seated in Hargeisa. and the Mogadishu have the naval defense institutions since it on the coast and have the senate there.
and while you’re at it how about a space station and a khat market on mars?

The invocation of clan identities must be deemed impermissible. In Rwanda when i visited that country, for example, even the utterance of the words Hutu or Tutsi is proscribed by law; to do so invites imprisonment. In the same spirit, our position must be unequivocal: there are no divisions, no sub-categories. There is only one identity Somali, and Somali alone.”
True but people use qabil as a blanket tool to explain all of somalias ills and I think its really lazy also impossible to eliminate unless its done at the barrel of a gun like Rwanda did, Somalia is too big and sparsely populated, also our material condition is the lowest in the world when you have nothing you will cling onto things like Qabil even the most advanced nations in the world went through this. The biggest problem Somalis face is Religious Extremsim a poor culture and the worst of all the crippiling poverty with leaders who dont do shit to solve it. South Korea was extremely backwards in the 60s but as they rapidly advanced and industrialised their people were preoccupied with other things.

Qabil is a fundamental social force we have to deal with in somalia weather we like it or not. But there are waya of getting it under control and reducing its power.

One of those strategies is being implemented right now. The creation of ssc-khatumo and eventually awdal reduce the chance of any one federal member state from becoming too powerful. Then there's other strategies like increasing the power of every gobol and making it so that instead of them just reporting to the federal member state they're apart of have the fgs be involved. The goal should be to have the avg citizenry feel the fgs's presence and feel like its doing something for them.

When do U think Somali will become great? I've been waiting since the fall of siyad barre govt. We need to stop wishing but start doing more. The problem isn't clan or even islamist but more so we got a failed culture that doesn't work together. Once we get past this issue and learning we need to co-operate and accept that we are stuck in this bad one Somalia model even if we disagree with it.
