My dad said 1991 up untill our clan has been effected due to the no government. When his father died in the mid 80's the clan was pursuing building up it's capabilities and capacities inside the clan. Ensuring an academic class, business class, religious class, civil society, ensuring our land possessions increased for nomadic reasons. We already had strong 'dhaqan' to build from and keep us stable, we were just missing the government to facilitate the rest so our clan build from the inside.
My dad said when he returned he saw the 'soldier' class increase rapidly which is code-word for 'khat chewers, jobless, etc' because only those people are usually recruited to die for beesha, they even make use of they're useless clans-men by enlisting them into the army but he said they still kept the rule of only recruiting those who left kids, because even someone who is useless can have sex and have babies and not effect our population growth.
But anyways due to 91 civil war our clan building has come to a halt, we are in 'security' phase now and the soldier class is increasing as more khat chewers grow in a society with no government, I suspect this is the case for all clans nowadays. The lack of government really hurt us @PuntiteQueen it gave our clans no more hope and the men just are jobless majority of them which leads into drug use to kill time. But we still make use of them I guess as soldiers but surely how long can we be in this 'security' phase. I want clan development.
I want to assist my father to go back there and make them all return to nomadic pastoralism, at least they're is potential growth there even if there is none in the cities. Livestock, minerals, oil, fishery are basically the things that I want my clan to focus on for the next 50 years to build up wealth from. Then I will execute to ensure they marry strong and wealthy tribes to ensure we get big 'mahr' money not this pathetic shit nowadays. I pray got a strong govt so we can start building a clan with strong arms in all civil society areas be it religious, business, academics, politicians, etc
