This is an extreme case of whataboutism. I don't see how you can take individual's actions on the internet and blame an entire ethnicity for it. Regardless of whether or not that person is Somali, anyone can post anything on the internet and try to claim to be some other ethnicity. This isn't something preventable, the bigger issue here is that people too much weight on what they see online. Bad people are exemplified online because algorithms tend to show people what they hate more often because such videos garner more views and subsequently ad revenue for services. People of any ethnicity can do stupid things on the internet, but somehow only Somalis are the ones distracted when they see their own people online doing something they see as bad. It's also completely irrelevant to the topic here. I don't think people are putting down females or uplifting males or some other gender feud in this topic either, this isn't necessarily about how females are bad at running. There are plenty of women who can run, the problem here is the government corruption and how this women in particular was able to randomly gain this position as a runner. This is speculation, but I think there had to be some sort of bribery or other corruption so I don't really have any sympathy for this runner.

They said that she's a uni graduate. But for the sake of the image of Somalia on the global stage and avoid embarrassment on her own end, she shouldn't have opted out.
