Banadir would be OP and would effectively be its own country
that's not the reason why it would be overpowered. Lower Shabelle was always the most populous region of Somalia and both Shabelle's are the backbone of the country. People would still flock to Mogadishu considering its the capital but now the two most fertile regions would also see huge developments due it being part of the same region as the capitalMost people would travel and invest other parts of the country not Benadir.
Why? It would have rivers, all the farm lands, massive population. Would also have the most diverse population. Most people would travel and invest other parts of the country not Benadir.
African disease where the capitol is shiny but all the rural areas are 5th world. Same with England and France vs Italy and Germany. The biggest mistake was not adopting Federalism in 1960. Somalia was pretty much a city state and we all suffered as a result of putting our eggs in one basket. Now any region that wants to go full retard, it's on them. They alone will suffer the most.
Why would upper jubba be the poorest.Upper Juba would still be the poorest.
Nugaal used to be part of Togdheer in 1960 - 1969.Waryaa ilkoxaar marqaan you will forever be confined to your Bermuda Triangle stop these fantasies, Nugaal kulaha. The only time your kind can be here for their Somalia passport.

I would prefer federalism based on these regions rather than the current clan based confederalism thing we currently have going on
No it wouldn’t. If we went back to the 8 old states darood would be the majority in 2 out of the 8, Lower Juba (questionably) and North east. Togdhere would be 50/50 at best but dominated by isaaq regardless and Mudugh would be majority Hawiye without a doubtIronically, if went back to the old 8 states, 6 in the south and 2 in the north, 4 of the 8 would be majority Darod. Obviously Darod are not 50% of Somalia's population. It would be an unfair map.
D&M were woke when they called for federalism in the 60sThe biggest mistake was not adopting Federalism in 1960. Somalia was pretty much a city state and we all suffered as a result of putting our eggs in one basket. Now any region that wants to go full retard, it's on them. They alone will suffer the most.
Harti are the majority in more districts in that region, yet Togdheer would be dominated by Isaaq make it make senseNo it wouldn’t.
