How to keep a man

I think you should change the title to how to lose a man because the list you gave out means the end of your relationship.

This is what men really want. This is the only way to keep your man and perhaps even prevent polygamy.

1. Respect your man’s needs.
2. Let your man lead.
3. Take care of your appearance.
4. Make sex a priority.
5. Respect him.
6. Trust him.
7. Cook for him.
8. Appreciation and Affirmation.
9. Make your home a haven.
10. Belief in his capabilities.

Women want to be treated like a queen well then start treating your man like a king too by following these lists.

Corrective list fam :salute:

I heard this in Mudug if you wouldnt believe it and they are the torchbearers of Af Somali, this is a very wise saying and only someone whose married can understand it. The ancients and elders have alot to teach us. Maybe @Inquisitive_ has heard it from the ladies there hhahah.

You do realize women have their own lists too, right? We don't complain about it and give them what they want and treat them like queens but all we ask is the same favour by treating us like a king.

There are women that expect men to pay for them during their date. They expect men to pay for meher, honeymoon, wedding, bills, rent and etc. They want us to be traditional so what is wrong with us wanting a traditional wife?

I think you meant men don't want hypocrites.

I wasn't speaking to Somali women's resistance or acceptance of traditional roles. More so the idea that if you overextend yourself and over deliver, your kind geatures will eventually be taken for granted by the other party (in friendships, courting and marriage). Such is life.

I don't meet up with a woman and say I want this and that in our first conversation. :icon lol:

You have relax and take it slow which some guys sadly lack patience. You have to please her and make her fall in love with you then you slowly tell her what you want and she'll accept it since she'll have this feeling that she wants to do anything for you because she's really in love with you.

The things I listed are basic traditional roles.

Do you have any better idea, walaal? I can't overexert my relationship goals to her as @sophisticate said so I have to take a sensible approach and come up with an understanding with her.

For example, she might tell me she prefers me to be a man who is traditional and knows his role. She may want me to take her to different countries she dreams to visit. She wants me to be kind to her, show her unconditional love and buy her gifts. She could want many things and I would happily accept her quest. Thats when it's appropriate for me to ask her my favours and she'll be happy with it because she's got what she dreams.

That's insidious. You need to be upfront regarding demands. Those are some Sun Tzu tactics.

Tbh, it's a bad idea if you are up front with your demands. You have to get to know the person first. There are territories you have to mark before you take the next level.

Honesty is good. :farmajoyaab: Using the slow burn approach seems mischevious. Seems like plotting.

Then again, what do I know about courtship outside of banter and reading novellas.

Honestly, it's far from plotting because you don't start off in the first conversation about your demands and not every date means marriage. To start a discussion about marriage, there must be a connection and knowledge about each other from between both parties. That is at least how I see it.

Agree! I‘d be creeped out if a guy told me all he wants from me without us having any sort of a connection. :susp: First I have to like him to accept anything he wants. Hadii kale waa useless. I‘d run for the hills. Warra factz aqli baad leedaha :salute:

1. Don’t call them your husband or boyfriend- that’s the first step of getting them to be too comfortable

2. Talk to different men on the phone when you are around them

3. Make them believe that the next mr right might be coming through the door at any point and they should never feel that they have you for good.

4. Don’t present yourself to be too available or to dependeable- as my sister @sophisticate always says “men are looking for a surrogate mother” if you answer to every whim you will find yourself wiping a grown man’s ass and disinfecting his pacifier like @Basra does for her maraxeen lump.

5. Have an emotional affair. Yes you heard. Men like women who are in demand, nothing wrong with some competition, but don’t sleep with the men you need to be able to argue it isn’t an affair so the relationship doesn’t end

Noted! Thanks Knowles!

This would make him more likely to find a second wife now that he has tamed the first
