Even Jubbaland itself is more important to the federal government in Xamar, than Puntland.
First Jubbaland is a little more diverse than Puntland, where's dominated by one subclan & calls all the shots.
Secondly Jubaland is also food producing State and has huge alsheytan in their state, so to fight them the FSG, needs Jubaland and all the local clans support.

The demand is less in the south, and transporting foods across the country is going to cost you. Just as you said, importing foods from the south will cost way more especially when Al Saqajaan taxes every living thing there. This is actually another reason why we should secede, I’d rather import food from a more peaceful country like Indonesia, China, or US.
