As horrific as it is, some might say those are collateral damage. The reality remains that the alternative to Amisom is Al-shabab, only they can fill the vacuum.

The alternative is Al-shabab. It's naive and wishful thinking that 20.000 soldiers of amisom can be replaced by a nonexisting somali army within few months or even few years.

Most of the south is still under AS even after our neighbors were refitted into Amisom. They're basically squatting and collecting cheques from the EU, give me 10 000 well-fed and payed on time somalis with their equipment and the civil war will end.

Haha, this is stupid. If AMISOM left tomorrow Al Shabab would be the most powerful force in Somalia. I am all for kicking AMISOM out but let's first build the SNA before we do so.

Somalis can defeat al shabaab if we unite and forget about qabiil..amisom is only there for their own personal gain.
