Has anyone escaped call centres? Is it too late to escape at 26?

Warya if it’s a young man’s game then your supposed to learn young lol? A woman doesn’t learn homemaking skills when she’s 50.

Ask most young able men nowadays if they can fix a sink, or a toilet or repair a wall let alone a house and most will tell you they hire someone to do that. That’s like your wife telling you to hire someone to cook and clean because they don’t know how lol.
How did you manage to turn this guy's crisis into some gender war shite? This place is pure schizophernia wallahi.

I don't think you're fully grasping what I'm saying. Being in the trades and being able to fix thing around the house are two different things. Your lack of real world experiences is glaringly obvious. Most men in the trades have all sorts of chronic knee and back issues. Why would you condemn your Somali brother to that? Our parents didn't come to this country/the West so we could be manual labourers.

But I do agree, any "man" who doesn't have a tool box to fix shit around the house or at the bare minimum some allen keys, phillips head screw drivers and a power drill is a complete homo :mjlol:

I didn’t mean it in a bad way and I wasn’t addressing him specifically. I didn't say that he should stick to manual labour, all I said was it’s good to have those skills in your pocket just in case to avoid doing other menial jobs that pay shit. Where I live they make 60 grand+ starting wage and truck drivers make 100k+ all I’m saying is as a man he has more options than someone like me. All jobs are terrible at the end of the day but what matters is how much your getting for your time and effort

its too late at my age to go into trade school and its over saturated with 18-20 year olds who can get the funding for it
Yeah true if your older than that it might be more difficult, maybe look into getting into tech? Since you have some technical background I think you could get your foot in the door. Also look into student job working with the government depending on where you live , they pay well, help fund your tuition and have benefits!

Also have you looked into income based scholarships to help fund your last year? You should definitely try to finish your last years inshallah I hope things will get easier.

Ask for promotion, become a supervisor or something, it’s about time to move up the ladder. Or go back to school for part time and get RN degree or go into construction.

I don’t understand why most men don’t just learn a trade? At least most women know cooking and homemaker skills at least partially,

most men nowadays are soft and don’t want to do hard labour. You could be earning 50k+ working at a camp, or plumbing or carpet installation.
With inflation rising, you would definitely need more than 100k/year to live comfortably.

No it's not too late. Where there's a will, there's a way. If you can't get a loan then maybe hit up relatives, if that's not an option then live in a shit box for another year whilst saving every single penny. Work like a dog and save the money for tution, I think they'll still lend you the maintaince fee if you're in the UK. There also hardship grants you can apply for and most unis will offer some sort of financial aid to struggling student, again, depending on if you're in the UK.

Life can change drastically in a short period of time sxb. Don't let the zoomer fàggots on here demoralize you. I nearly went down the "coding" rabbithole when I was in a similar situation before realising that most companies would rather pay a pajeet 1/5th of what they'd pay me. Now I work for a FSTE 100 company and will become a project manager in 3yrs or less inshallah.

Set a goal/intention and diligently work towards that, day and night. Everything else in your life should just be background noise. Have short-term achievable goals in mind and focus on those for now, thinking long-term can be a deteriment if you don't a clear goal in mind. "I need to have xyz in place/accomplished by X-date" etc. Get a day planner if you have to sxb.

I've been where you are sxb, all I can say is don't get comfortable. You'll be in that autopilot, vegetative state without realising the last 10yrs of your life have just flown by.
amazing work, may allah reward you for your strenuous efforts. what path did you go into to land the ftse100 role when you avoided coding ?
