FGS cabinet signs off on Turkish Naval agreement, which is to be implemented within 24 hours!

Similar agreement with Soviat 70s. :tocry:

Bro, Somalia could have been the Space Port of the World. Somalia is located on the equator, perfect for space lift-offs and landing, observatories / telescopes and high altitude training, even France was in talks with the Somali government in the 1960s to establish one in Kismayo.

He takes the money for the soldiers and does god knows what with it. Money meant for gorgor getting sent to someone else. Thank you hassan Ali khaire for the biometric system🙏

There was no UN investigation until Hassan gained office.

this is Gorgor and SNA money going elsewhere previous term, same thing is happening now.

Damn, I knew Hassan sheikh is a piece of shit but this right here is downright evil.
:damn:
U guys were delusional for thinking it was a military pact or weren’t aware of what a military pact entails. Turkey won’t sign a military pact as it simply doesn’t benefit them, a military pact is only viable if both parties are capable of defending each other in the face of conflict. So it doesn’t make sense for turkey to get into a military pact with a nation that has little to no military power and expect them to defend Türkiye ,only vice versa can occur. Also Turkey is in the NATO defence pact and has the most powerful nations defending them if they are ever attacked and so there is no need to get into other defence pacts especially with Somalia.
💯 true, Somalia is useless militarily to Turkey so going into a defence pact with them makes no sense

The link you posted is dated 2010, 7 years before gorgor existed and the screenshot mentions a company named gorgor solutions not gorgor soldiers LOL
Thank you hassan Ali khaire for the biometric system🙏
A quote from the article linked below
Defence Minister Mursal said the United Nations is creating a biometric database and plans to help the Somali government make cash payments directly to soldiers via mobile phones.

☝️Article on why the us suspended aid for the military during farmajo's term at a time when an amison drawdown was due to happen

Stop looking for a scapegoat. Doesn't matter if every president acted perfectly or not, Turkey ain't getting involved where there is no interest. You have to look after your own interests or be useful.

Ok they’re Gorgor solutions, I called them Gorgor. Not exactly the same ones as today, but they were supposed to recieve pay and didn’t.

The article is 2015 they’re talking about “Mohamud” term . Only the picture for Al shabaab they use is 2010. it details how the soldiers don’t get paid according to a UN sanctioned investigation. They wanted to learn what was happening to donor money meant for soldiers.

That was before the biometric system. They had to find out how much of the 26’000 were fake soldiers that Hassan was paying for his own benefit or theirs.

that was beginning of his term too, 10 months later. So he was dealing with the issue left by previous gov

Bro reread what it says and you will realise that it is a company that was contracted to handle payment arrears.

You said “see” to an article before the biometric system.

The “company” you speak of is IMF. They’re talking about how FGS is ineffective at paying soldiers. It’s clear cut and dry.

You asked for proof bro I’m off this. Then switched the topic to another. This what I meant by “don’t want to derail the thread”.

They have interest. And now our sea. So nothing will happen, at least to our maritime boundary.

US have nothing to say on Turkey-Somalia deal. Probably trying to get it squashed quietly behind the scenes.
Cuz it’s literally not a big news, turkey is in nato and the USA is happy with more security for Somalia, they will not stop it cuz the USA needs turkey to patrol the sea to stop alshabaab smuggling

If they were unhappy with the deal, do you honestly believe they would not answer said question 😒. Your desperation and naivety is showing.

It's a question of strategic influence. The US having invested in Somalia over decades to suddenly be trumped in the 11th hour by Turkey having basing rights and free access to Somalia's waters to project their influence in the region is a sensitive topic that can't be openly discussed. Naturally behind the scenes they will convincing Mogadishu to reconsider the deal.

Hersey,

When has Turkey ever gone against the United States foreign policy ? (Excluding their own domestic affairs) When have they ever gone against their interest in Somalia specifically ?

You’re making a claim without any substantial evidence to put forth. You’re equating Turkish involvement in Somalia like that of the CCP. For the past decade the Turks have been in Somalia, it has been quite adamant that the United States government and the Turkish government have a vested interest in cooperating to stabilise Somalia.

Ever heard the story of the boy who cried wolf ? You have a lot in common !

You know what's unbelievable handing over territory to your gaajo neighbours after getting beat by a fellow tribe.
True, this deal wouldn't have really been needed had the landers not screwed us all over.

I honestly love Isaac but they make it hard to not roast them when they put us all in jeopardy for nothing.

First of all this is an opinion piece that was written in 2018 lol although the writer is an academic it is still an opinion piece 💀, second of all I clearly said excluding their own domestic affairs (e.g the Syrian and Russian debacle, amongst other things).

As of 2024 the United States and Turkey have reach a historic trade volume of close to $50 billion, if their “relationship” was over doubt this would be the case 💀.

when I googled both countries relations, there was so many positive articles about a reset of relations, but you had to post an article from 2018 😂

Two points of confusion:

Economic trade partnership vs strategic partnership. US and China trade far exceeds 50 billion and you wouldn't call them strategic partners.

Internal vs foreign affairs. Syria is a foreign affair and in 2021 Joe Biden said it was an "extraordinary and unusual threat to foreign policy and national security".
Russia too is a foreign affair.

You can't just change the meaning of things to suit your own narrative.

Turkey and US relations are complicated and they pursue their own interests that sometimes conflict with eachother.
