*sigh*

There are many people who benefit from having people beg in IDP camps. The situation in Somalia will NEVER be resolved until we FIGHT to make these people independent.

Let me give you an example;

When Farole was the president of Puntland, there was a terrible drought, many nomads lost ALL their livestock and "aid agencies" were salivating at the prospect of placing these proud nomads in IDP camps.

Farole refused and the Imams of Puntland raised enough money to buy new livestock for the nomads so they can continue making their own money.

We need to eradicate IDP Camps in Somalia by funding employment drives/vocational training and kicking out these foreign vultures who get $$$ by filming poverty in Somalia.

The people who are mostly represented in IDP vultures, are D&M people who are being chased around by AlShabab.
In addition, their affiliated people, the Bantu Somalis, don't seem to have the structure or means of helping each other financially, so you will see their children begging in the streets.

Instead of allowing NGOs to give expired carbs and cooking oil to poor and marginalised Somalis, we need fund raisers for training and housing for these people.

Poverty is not just a condition, it's a MINDSET

Somalia is NOT poor, it is poorly managed.

NO MORE IDP CAMPS!!

NGOs and AID groups are a thriving business and without costumers (people who suffer from draughts and poverty) they wont make any money. This is why you never see them deal with the problem itself as they would lose their valuable resource and in turn not obtain any ""funding"" to continue their vicious cycle.

Even worse than what you mentioned is that they bring expired food in the harvest season in the south and put the farmers out of business

Exactly!!

They can easily train these people and build homes for them like they have done in Puntland for Southern IDPs but in the South, they are not doing so.

The diaspora needs to band together to force these exploiters to start training programmes.
We also need Southern clans who are overrepresented in camps to be held accountable!
Their clan elders, mps and politicians need to be scrutinised and dealt with.

Somalis are too scared to speak the truth sometimes but NGOs take advantage of 2 groups the most; D&M and the Bantu who live with them.

We need to get to the root of this problem.

Is it JUST insecurity or a deeper, underlying issue?

Its better we ban all Aid organisations as they bring us down and keep Somalia on its knees. We should support farming, livestock, fishing industry and clothing industry and wells to kick start a revival process

Deffo but I believe we should force them to use their "aid" in better means whilst we get on our feet.

We need a diaspora lobby group walahi.

We have received good rains in the north despite claims by NGOs that we are facing a drought. Is it not raining in the south or are they simply lying for money?

Rain won't help these people, they're not nomads.

We have a large homeless group in Somalia, they don't own livestock and seem unskilled.

Interestingly enough, we don't see their men in pictures.. on purpose or are they "missing".

If they are missing, are they AlShabab or dead?

They could even be spouses/widows of militia men or SNA.

We need Somali NGOs to do in-depth research on these mysterious IDP camps. Why can't the "Heritage Group" do this? They get enough funding and have a high profile.

Silly political matters are not as pressing as the homeless crisis we have.

Some people here lost sight of reality and pretend to live in ivory towers, the federal government's 2019 budget is $340, 000,000 less than how much 3 top football players, like Neymar, Ronaldo and Mbappe would cost. How much is Puntland's budget? Somalis have always been a basket case and would always be basket case and need foreign handouts. Without NGO's, millions would've been dead and hundreds of thousands without medical care and education.
