All those languages are Sudanic not Nilotic.Sudanese Arabs are distinct from Nubians as we can tell from the availabile samples

Afterwards, we must also define who is Nubian or not. Personally, like all western anthropologists, I classify speakers of Nubian languages as "Nubians" and even the nubian themselves think to this way

Je jure que l'Éthiopie les a nettoyés ethniquement en 03. Elle devrait être en colère contre son gouvernement au lieu des négros qui lui ressemblent. Typique de l'éthique non habesh
Did you heard about the crisis in tigray? Overall Ethiopia is kinda a shitehole when we look at the ethnic conflicts in different regions. I had also seen that habesha Muslims were being killed by Christian extremists

Yh still amazed at how 7% of the population shaffin niggas like that. I just mean in general Ethiopians who’s aren’t habesha will have a go at it with other groups but never the actual people that subjugated them. esp the Muslim ones for some reason muslim Ethiopians have this weird dislike for Somalis but love their habesha masters. It needs to be studied

I stand corrected Nilo-Saharan and Nilotic are apparently different, at the end of the day they are still related aren't they.

By the way 40% and 50% that is low Cushetic DNA, they are on the level of Habesha now, can barely call them cushetic anymore, also they have lost their language alot of them speak only arabic.

@Nilotic we need proof. A pic of ur arm with written name of paper beside should be sufficient

I only classify people who speak Nubian or identify as one to be Nubian

Teda aren't nilotic.

Actually people of Chad has no nilotic roots. But maybe I'm wrong.

They part of the Nilo saharan family a little bit similar geneticly with the darfuri with is still different than the dinka or Nuer

The Teda are closely related to the Zaghawa and the people of Darfur; most of their ancestry is Nilotic.

Thats the funny thing Nubians maintain their nilotic language but are heavily admixed with Arabs and Habesha, while Beja their neighbor for thousands of years maintain majority cushetic DNA but have pretty much lost their language in exchange for Arabic and Tigre.

Like the Dinka-Nuer, Nubians are Nilo-Saharan but they form a very distinc branch within that linguistic family -- especially as it relates to genetics.

The Nubians I am talking about 1000 years ago would have had more nilotic DNA probably majority Nilotic before Habesha and Arabic influence, they would have resembled her.

I use think so too, but it seems pretty clear that they've been this for thousands of years; they must have mixed with West Eurasians and Egyptians many thousands of years ago.

Nubians are not a product of Cushetic + Nilotic mix, they are way too short for that, if you want the product of that admixture look at tribes in Kenya like the Sambur and Masai

Nubians do have substantial Nilotic ancestry, but they are distinct in genetic, phenotypical and cultural terms. We have virtually nothing in common.

Is Sudan in East Africa?

We use to reside as far North as the Sudan-Egyptian border and even Southern Egypt (Nabta Playa) so give it up, walaal.
Explains a lot. A lot of Ancient Egyptian art clearly depicts Nilotic peoples. Who did the Nubians get there? Did they live even Further north?

I think Nilotes were only distributed that far North long before the ancient Egyptians even came into being.

The Nubians of that time were desert nomads but it's clear that they've resided there for many thousands of years. Nilotes were further to the South either in or just outside Khartoum and the Gezira.

The people of ancient Kush were not Nubians; the ethnic name of their people was Kasu and they ceased to exist long ago, however, a lot of them resembled modern Nubians whereas some people depicted amongst their ranks were Nilotic in appearance.

Kush was an empire and we now have evidence suggesting that their influence went down as far South as the White Nile; this likely explains all the Nilotic type peoples we see in those depictions.

Weren’t ancient Kush Cushitic peoples?

What evidence is there for them being Kushites if they spoke a Nilo-Saharan language?

A lot of the depictions they had of themselves were not typically Nilotic looking; and the precursor kingdom to Kush (Kerma) was populated by Cushitic groups.

Makes more sense that they were Nilotic.

The Kushites could have been Nilo-Saharan, but they were likely more closely related to the Nilo-Saharan speaking Nubians, Taman and the Nara-Kunama that eventually migrated to Eritrea.

Nilotes are a very specific group of people (Dinka-Nuer) that reside in South Sudan, Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania; and it doesn't include other groups of Nilo-Saharan speakers like the Nubians, Nara, Taman and Nyima.

What did you use for the "Cushitic" proxy? Somalis? The "Cushites" they mixed with would've been substantially more "Ethio-Somali" than we are, and so it's not right using them as a proxy, no? I have 80% Somali + 20% Natufian and 80% Somali + 20% Ethio-Somali (87% Natufian + 13% IBM) coords if you could please try that again with it.
