Like the Dinka-Nuer, Nubians are Nilo-Saharan but they form a very distinc branch within that linguistic family -- especially as it relates to genetics.



I use think so too, but it seems pretty clear that they've been this for thousands of years; they must have mixed with West Eurasians and Egyptians many thousands of years ago.



Nubians do have substantial Nilotic ancestry, but they are distinct in genetic, phenotypical and cultural terms. We have virtually nothing in common.

They are the only non Afro-asiatic with almost entirely Afro-asiatic DNA, next are the Chadics, and last the Nilotic in South Sudan, Uganda and Kenya with the least Afro-asiatic DNA coming from Cushites.

What did you use for the "Cushitic" proxy? Somalis? The "Cushites" they mixed with would've been substantially more "Ethio-Somali" than we are, and so it's not right using them as a proxy, no? I have 80% Somali + 20% Natufian and 80% Somali + 20% Ethio-Somali (87% Natufian + 13% IBM) coords if you could please try that again with it.

Some outliers are 12% and the Mota doesn’t really offset it tbh, PN & PIA are the best available samples to represent Cushitic admixture in modern groups.Using them also helps shows the Arab admixture in Somalis

As you can see by the tittle of the vid 2nd of all why would I be anrgy. My people r tired of getting called gajaak nuer /ss all the time even tho if u do ur research properly youd know where not. She is South Sudanese; her clan, the Gajaak Nuer, reside in Gambella and only arrived in that region in the 1900s.

All Luo people (Anyuak included) migrated to Upper Nile from Bahr El Ghazal and according to the Shilluk accounts, both Luo groups moved together as one undifferentiated group

Your people are still relatively recent migrants to Ethiopia and you share infinitely more in common with other Nilotic ethnic groups in South Sudan.

The Ethio-Semitic groups are genetically, phenotypically and culturally distinct from you; any cultural similarities that you share with the Amhara is the result of cultural imperialism/influence
