But how Ethiopia wanting to build a naval base in Seylac is a good thing for Somaliland? Are Somalilanders exchanging the mere "recognition" with a piece of their territory? Ethiopian claims on Seylac have been ongoing for centuries, so not sure how can any Somali be oblivion to it.

If Ethiopia bases its navy on Seylac, that means not only do they have territorial ambitions on that port, that also means they intend on eventually suffocating and swallowing DJibouti as well.

If you ask me, Abiy is resolving Ethiopia's lack of access to the sea. And it is a dangerous development to Somaliland and DJibouti as well.

Where are you getting the idea that Somaliland is giving up Saylac, or any of its territory?
