Having a peaceful nuclear program for energy is acceptable many countries have it even South Africa, Sweden , Japan etc. No country is allowed to make nuclear weapons, if Ethiopia does they will get invaded, have it dismantled, face sanctions and diplomatic isolation more so because they signed the non-proliferation treaty like most countries.
Globally there is a rush for Nuclear Energy production to meet Energy demands. It is similar for Somalia they are aiming for it.

Somalis across the region wave the blue flag and even incorporate it into their regional flag designs.
Somalia’s existence is not predicated on FGS. It’s predicated on the communities themselves , people who fund their own administrations, pay small taxes locally, and build businesses that provide the services they rely on.
As far as I know, Hawiye don’t even fully identify with FGS most align with Benadir, Hiraan, or Galmudug admins depending on where they live.
Personally, I don’t see that as a problem. More inclusion and stronger local governance leads to better political and development outcomes anyway , as long as Somalis recognize that working across regional lines is what makes us stronger.
This is true. Somalia and Somaliland basically had economic freedom, free trade, and self-governance, while pre-2018 Galbeed and NFD were stripped of these and blocked from developing their regions. In many ways, they still depend on Somalia. They went to Somalia for education and healthcare, and even for basic services like electricity and water which had to be sourced from Somalia.
The capital and goods that flowed into those regions came from Somalia or the diaspora. Most financial services available were Somali-based money transfers and commercial banks. Imports also had to pass through Somalia.
You only need to compare Somalia’s urbanization and higher levels of financial inclusion to see the gap.
People don’t realize how interconnected Somalis are, and how much they depend on one another.
