Plus, Just because what is now PL used to be part of Italian Somaliland doesn't disqualify Puntland from seeking independence should it choose to go that route. Puntland can argue before it join Italian Somaliland it was a separate entity called Majerteenia or Majerteen sultanate.

A number of influential countries have already officially recognized Somaliland. I think you misunderstand, the only reason we're in this perpetual state is since the UN stupidly thought it'd be good idea to let Somalia decide. And their wants are irrelevant. Your comment's what made me laugh.

Well, I'm MJ too and I know most of us support unity with Somalia. But I personally think it's a big mistake. The clans of the south hate us and our state the most. They can't stand the fact that we have stability and self governance with no Amisom and other foreign troops on our soil. They always wish the worse for us. They probably pray every day for our destruction. Their hatred for us is much stronger than their hate for the Isaaqs iyo SL. They can't get along among themselves and build a proper functioning government. It's a waste of time to wait for south Somalia. Again I think it's a big mistake to remain part of failed state of Somalia. I hope my folks wake up one day and say goodbye to Somalia.

In theory Greater Somalia is obviously the best option without all the baggage it comes along with. I'm afraid there can never be unity among Somalis with SL, Ethiopia and Kenya still around. I don't see any one of them giving in. No offense but Somalia has little authority even in the nation's capital. Farmaajo literally has an arrest warrant issued in Somaliland. He can't even visit two of 'his' largest cities. What kind of president is he???

The problem I have with Somaliland is that the younger ones hate Somalia because they think they were the only ones targeted during the Kacaan.
