Do you consider yourself to be a feminist and why?

Uh… did we live in the same household ? I remember once taking a nap after a long day at work… and the aunties were complaining about how shameful it is for a woman to take a nap and how that may affect your future husband once your married… I’m like why ? And they said you don’t take naps no more once your married cause that’s a sign of laziness… when I just worked a 7-3 shift at a factory assembly line.

I don’t hate men either and Im like you only agree with the definition of it.
But I do acknowledge the system does cater to women a lot, especially the family court systems and how marriage once over really screws men over at times, ( we can get into that )… the core values of feminism has been lost… the overall message of it is super important but it’s now been tainted.
Exactly …..

Since you have no problem with Islamic feminism you should have no problem with Islamic red pill-ism :samwelcome:

Thats why muslim akademics already spoke out against the red pillers even when they hide behind "I only support Islamic red pill"

its a big fitna & they'll use the examples people like you to justify their islamization of whatever ideology comes next.

Comparing feminism and red pill is not an honest argument.

One wants the advancement of a gender and the other is a movie reference.

Red pill, alpha's, MGTOW whatever they call themselves .

Again feminism has nothing to with islam ,specially modern day feminism .

It's all semantics feminism is an ideology by itself & doesn't even operate by the definition you gave.

Well according to Periplus, mainstream feminism as we actually see in real life is Not Real Feminism. I asked him to explain who the representatives of Real Feminism are, he said they were Islamic feminists I believe he said in Muslim countries. He said he'd give a list of these Real Feminists and never gave the list.

Anyways, according to Periplus, mainstream feminism that we in the West actually see in real life is Not Real Feminism, Real Feminism is represented by some obscure women in Muslim countries who none of us have heard of and we have a moral obligation to be ideological followers of these mysterious unknown women we've never heard of and we must not equate feminism with the feminism that we actually see in real life and that is mainstream in the West where most of us live.

It's all semantics to justify non Islamic ideologies ,who we all know have no place in islam .

If you advocate for the rights of women in the sense of Islam than you are a Muslim not a feminist or Islamic feminist.
Same goes for capitalism,communism,socialism,Marxism etc.

Yes, I’m a proud feminist. I support ending femicide, FGM, child bride, physical/emotional/ verbal/financial abuse. I support education, work and voting rights, equal pay.

There are too many different types of feminism.

Liberal feminsm (the worst type), radical feminism, marxist feminism, womanism (black feminism) and the list goes on.

why would a guy be a feminist, no way.
you gotta drop your ego sometimes and think in womens pov. its helped me be a good person to female friends and partners by empathizing with them. when you're friends with women and they tell you bout their daily experiences you start thinking damn niggas really aint shit wallahi. doesnt mean you should become a simp and read feminist novels everyday, even simple things like acknowledging your privilege is the right way forward.

I wouldn't call myself a feminist partly because I don't want to be associated with the weird nice guy type male feminist but also because some of their popular goals today seems genuinely retarded like the sex worker qurun. I do have support their goal of women equality, as somalis we have a lot of work to do tbh.

I understand there is alot of loopholes in the movement that is contradictory to Islam but I support the textbook definition of feminism that @Periplus posted.

If humans are spiritually equal in the eyes of God, which is the most important criteria since our purpose in this life is to worship Allah, then we are all equal regardless of our race, gender, age etc..

Feminism in all its forms bases itself on 2 things. The demise of the patriarchy and equal rights of women under the law and in social treatment.

This seems like quite the noble ideal to those who champion egalitarianism, and saying you're against this would mean that you're against an egalitarian ideal.

That is definitely the case with Islam. Islam doesn't reject feminism, but feminism rejects Islam. Islam is based on Tawhid and submitting to our creator in everything. Islam came to uphold Tawhiid and reject something much greater than feminism, that is, the association of partners with Allah in all things.

Our Rabb has detailed for us the way in which to organize ourselves, and much to the dismay of the feminists, he orders us to uphold patriarchal ways, such as the authority and managerial position of the men in the family and in marriage and the Khilafah being only restricted to men.

Following feminism to its logical conclusion will lead to kufr because it leads to the rejection of Islamic principals of social organization.

In Islam, the genders are equal in one thing. That is, that their gender is equally irrelevant in the eyes of Allah when it comes to judging superiority.

There is no equality and neither is there superiority. We were created in ways that compliment one another.

Feminism is the advocacy towards equality between the two genders. Everyone should support that
Equality between the genders in what?

The laws in inheritance are unequal, the rights of men and women in marriage are not equal, etc.

And don't say equally relevant, because I'm sure many feminists will vehemently disagree with you on that one.
