In our religion men are required to provide for their wife and children, women are not.
In our religion men are allowed to marry 4 wifes, women are allowed to marry 1 man.
In our religion 1 male witness is the same as 2 female witnesses.
In our religion women are required to cover their whole body except except their face/hands, men are not.
In our religion it's best for women to pray at home and men at the masjid.
In our religion a woman is encouraged to stay in the house.
In our religion a man can divorce his wife, a women can not divorce her husband.
In our religion a man inherits more than a woman.
All of these points goes against feminism, I don't know how you can call yourself a feminist if you are muslim.
The dream state for a feminist is basically Wonder Woman and I'm not even joking. They literally don't want men and believe they don't need them. This, feminists are constantly pushing stuff that goes against the sharia. Feminists are not satisfied with just going by what Islam says. They want to bring some alien outside ideology and try to make Islam conform with this ideology- rather than make their own viewpoint conform with Islam.

End thread. The confusion is because of vague or misleading terms. Once they've been ascertained your stance should be obvious.
Feminism = Equality = Gender conventions should NOT exist/should be the exact same for man and woman.
Islam = Equity = The two genders are different, like how a wrench is to a knife, none are inferior but they each have their own duties.

just to illustrate what I mean
I wanted my son to reject masculine stereotypes. Then he fell in love with tractors
All my life, I’ve prided myself on blurring gender lines. But when my young son started to gravitate toward the very things I’d shunned, I wasn’t sure what to do.

I Wanted My Son To Bash Through Man Boxes, But He Fell In Love With Tractors
All my life, I’ve prided myself on blurring gender lines. But when my young son started to gravitate toward the very things I’d shunned, I wasn’t sure what to do.www.today.com
this is weird and this is not from Islam and this is not "upholding rights of women". "upholding rights of women" doesn't mean whatever this weird stuff is.
Picking an article like this is so niche.
It’s like picking an article saying “I told my son he couldn’t marry a non-Muslim, so he married a goat”. After all, animals are Muslim, so I didn’t know what to say to him.
If that above paragraph sounds absolutely ridiculous then you should take a good hard look at your post.
It’s literally a nit-picked article that seems to justify irrational hate towards an ideology.
@Periplus I love how you said you were gone because you didn't want to continue with this pointless debate but here you are.
You can't even stay consistent with your personal life yet alone your feminist beliefs. Speaks volumes about you and your thought process.
Let me ask you this, do you think men and women should be equal in society? Because that's the view the feminists are pushing, and if you were to tell them about the differences between men and women in islaam they wouldn't say that it's equal, they would say that islaam is a religion that is sexist and oppressive against women. No real feminist will agree with islaam on those matters, because they go against feminism.Okay, well it’s suhoor time so I might as well respond to some of these since no one else is taking an opposing view….
Yes, 100% men and women do not have the same roles in Islam. No one is here to argue that.
Women get mehr, women get a week off fasting and prayer, women don’t have to work etc.
Does that mean women are more superior than men? NO
It means that men and women both have their advantages and disadvantages but it evens out. Thus, making them equal.
As Zakir Naik said “Men and women are equal but not identical.”
"It’s literally a nit-picked article that seems to justify irrational hate towards an ideology."
firstly, I'm a Muslim, I don't need any ideology that isn't Islam.
secondly, let's just look at one of the most popular and famous feminist websites called Jezebel. let me just post something from their front page if there's not a bunch of semi-nudity.
ok, here's one of the articles from their front page:
College Applicants Are Avoiding Schools in Anti-Abortion and Anti-Trans States

College Applicants Are Avoiding Schools in Anti-Abortion and Anti-Trans States
"I don’t want to go to school in a state where I won’t have reproductive rights access," one prospective student said.jezebel.com
so something promoting transgenderism and abortion. btw I skipped an article reviewing skimpy outfits on celebrity women.
so... let's not be dishonest. this kind of stuff is normal feminist stuff. it isn't like normally it's all about promoting memorizing the Quran and praying sunnah prayers and then you have some rare instances where it's different. this is normal, mainstream feminist stuff. even that article I posted before in the earlier post- that was from a few days ago in a mainstream magazine.
Let me ask you this, do you think men and women should be equal in society? "I stayed up to finish some work and I got dragged into this pointless debate. I’ll let the sisters deal with you when they wake up."I literally said, I was going because it was almost suhoor time. I’m literally up for suhoor now.
But I won’t let you stop that from using ad hominem in an attempt to psycho-analyse me.
Then you're not a feminist, because that's not what feminism is about.I believe that men and women have some similar roles and some different roles in society.
It balances out to be equal but not identical.
"I stayed up to finish some work and I got dragged into this pointless debate. I’ll let the sisters deal with you when they wake up."
You're so bad at this.
Then you're not a feminist, because that's not what feminism is about.
