Ofcourse parents need to take more responsibility for their kids, but can you guarantee that a 100% perfect upbringing will make your kids avoid any mess? My family weren't Salafi. They were just typical religious Somalis. They let us watch music videos and T.V. growing up.

I want my kids to be religious so they can do good deeds and go to heaven. I also want them to do sadaqul jaariya for me when I die. I really believe in the afterlife and I want to be reunited in heaven with them. This is highly unlikely if they don't follow one of the most crucial pillars of Islam. A Salafi sheikh said people who don't pray should be beheaded because they're apostates. I clearly am not an extremist if all I do is tap them on the bottom. My slaps don't hurt, they're merely intended to send the message home.
