Colourism isn't prevalent. It's practiced by a few and even then, it is not considered a big deal.
Other communities like Asians and West Africans (some East African countries as well) have had caste systems or shown bias towards lighter skinned people. It is deeply imbedded in their culture and is one of many reasons why they are in constant turmoil.
I actively engage in colourism. I do indeed love my brownies.
Thanks broI hope they all love you back and you live your best life bro
I tried not to compare the two, but I see why it could be seen as such. Colorism is much worse in other communities than ours, is how it came across as, no?I don't think it's a good idea to compare issues or we would never view anything as problem anymore cause someone else somewhere has or does it worse.
I know it feels like a few people engage in it ,but you live in the west right? Have you been back to somalia recently , I suggest asking people back home, their opinion on colorism it may change your current outlook . I only hope my post made you ponder on this issue a bit more than you would usually have.

I know Diana Cream is abused back home and the color of a girl skin is a factor in marriage. But I will argue that colorism is fairly new thing in somalia and in a few years it will be phased out.
I have cousins who live there and they do admit that colorism does exist but it doesn't their day to day lives. I think different regions/ portions of somalia react differently to it and I don't collectively, it should be a big concern. Just my two cents.
Doesn’t exist at all, light skins ain’t ratedUsing Relative Privation doesn't change the fact it exists. All I want is people to be aware of it and make conscious decision to not engage in it. I just want the best for our people nothing more, plus it's haram so even more reason to remind people. I know we have wide variety of other problems that we need to deal but hey one can dream right?

Then why you on a Somali forum?Yeah and I'm not somali I just like LARPing as one online.

Bruv don't argue with this guy. He is kinda stupid.I can't even tell if you trolling me here . Colorism exists you smoking some good gelato if you say eitherwise, I'm not even discussing whether it exists (Denying it is cap) . I'm making people more aware of how wide spread of an issue it is in the Somali community.
Only colorism with Somalis I can think of is that light skin men are seen as soft, otherwise it don’t really exist, I guess light skin women are out of style though so might be some colorism there but that’s more dating preference than colorisimI can't even tell if you trolling me here .
