I think r/somalia is majority diaspora but I’ve been seeing Kenyan-Somalis lately, the quality has gone down, lots of relationship questions

It’s a common theme on reddit for country subs to be mainly diaspora/western communities, not just us.

They don’t speak Somali in r/Somalia so they’re not fobs.

Saw this thread on reddit and was a bit bothered by some of the replies.



The way some of these niggas reacted reminded me of all the cringe TikTok lives we see about interracial marriage. The subreddit has definitely become a lot more active over the past few years.

Your avg western Farah wouldn't trip about some Palestinian getting married to a xalimo.

I think the issue is more the over glorification of interracial marriage, if you notice somalis in general hardly mix but almost all the big channels are about mixed race couples.

The somali women who married somali aren't the ones being pushed by youtube.

I think that is what caused dudes to become jaded about it, its halal but it can be annoying when it looks like your race's women have abandoned ship enmasse.

Somalis don't want to end up like filipinos or indians, it would be a sad sight.

I've actually spoken about this on here multiple times. A lot of diaspora Somali men don't care about this since they don't want other niggas viewing them as a "dayouth"


Meanwhile we will always see somalis in interracial marriage constantly posting about their relationship on social media.

The cultural Muslims and non strict Somali niggas are carrying our reputation currently.

These sspot lames that would call niggas dayooth for posting their wives on social media move just like these desi niggas.

Also our relationship PR is in the gutter. Somalis in happy relationships are not on the Internet posting about it online.

Somali divorcees are willingly hopping on platforms just to dunk on the men they married. I've said this before on here but I went through a period of time where I never saw anything positive about Somali men and somali marriages. Like in college all I saw online was Somali weddings and Somali divorce stories on social media.

Somali men overall aren't fighting this. Like divorcees and single moms literally have a chokehold on an image right now. Also with the rise of guys afraid of being called a "dayouth", a lot of Somali men simply feel uncomfortable posting pics/vids with their partner.

We should be seeing Farahs this happy with Somali women online constantly. We don't. I legit didn't know some niggas were married until they posted their kids on social media.

Plenty Somali men are in happy relationships with Somali women but you will rarely see them posting about it online. I still don't understand where this whole dayouth thing came from. I swear I never saw this word being spammed on Muslim Twitter and Instagram over a decade ago. These niggas gotta be dick riding Arabs and south Asians. I've seen plenty of of older somali men and fobs post their wives on social media with no hesitation.
