Salafiyyah predates the existence of Saudi Arabia. It's definitely not all Salafis but there is a segment of people who call themselves Salafis who are strangely very soft when it comes to Zionism... but extremely harsh and aggressive when it comes to other Muslims.
this is a consistent pattern.... it gets seen time and time again... it's like all the spubs cult and spubs type ideology is teaching these people is hatred of other Muslims and terrible manners
is this how the salaf interacted with other Muslims? if you're really a Salafi you should be a Salafi in how you deal with other Muslims.
ahlul bidah... munafiq... these kinds of labels tend to just flow casually from this group of people... although to be fair, usually they tend to call everyone khariji rather than call them munafiq.... according to what Faris has said, anyone who criticizes one of the rulers in the Muslim countries is now a khariji.... so if you've ever criticized MBS, HSM, the UAE ruler, etc.... you are now a khariji... (in fact, Faris himself according to his own ideology is a khariji because he criticized Erdogan)
and according to hadith and many scholars... the khawarij are to be exterminated (also btw according to Sheikh Ibn Baz and some other scholars, the khawarij are in fact kuffar)... as much as they try to present this ideology with a wholesome image of merely following Quran and Sunnah and the pious salaf.... the ideology of this group in fact is actually really dangerous

this is honestly a bid'ah to say that it's obligatory to call yourself a Salafi. even for Abu Khadeejah this position is too extreme, even he said he doesn't say it's wajib. I don't know of Sheikh Uthaymeen, Sheikh Ibn Baz, Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah, Sheikh Fawzan, any of them claiming it's wajib.
Albani however did promote the position that it's mandatory. I don't know who else besides him said that and honestly it's a wrong view. there is no proof to say that calling yourself a Salafi is obligatory. you say Quran and Sunnah, nowhere does Quran and Sunnah say you have to call yourself a Salafi.

I am not a flawless Muslim and have never claimed to be one, so do not hold me up as an example of people who follow the Salafi path and have salifyaah as an aqeedah. But I have rationale and reason for why they are on pure Islam and do not accept anything other than what the Quran and Sunnah say as a source and guide, which is how it is supposed to be islam is a mandate not what you feel like and it all has wisdom behind it.

Facts, once again, are unconcerned by feelings. Those who incite fitna and rebellion against the ruler, resulting in more bloodshed and destabilisation; examples include Iraq, Somalia, Libya, and Syria, all of which are perfect examples of going against the Quran and Sunnah, thanks to the Khawarajis who thought removing or rebelling would be better, but instead caused chaos and bloodshed and aided the Kufar.
If you desire, we can look to the Quran, Sunnah, and Salafi ways to see what was commanded by rulers and decide whether to criticise them publicly/from pulpits rather than privately, and whether to resist or protest against them?

If you adhere to the ancient Aqeedah (creed) and find yourself amidst various sects and ideologies, it becomes imperative to explicitly clarify that you are not inclined towards innovation or deviant beliefs. In times when confusion and deviation are prevalent, expressing your commitment to the Salafi Aqeedah becomes necessary. Unlike the era of the Salaf or the Prophet, where the pure adherence to Islam was evident, the current state of fitna (strife) and deviation necessitates a clear declaration of your Aqeedah as Salafiyyah to avoid any misconceptions.
Why call yourself “Salafi”? Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Abdul-Wahhaab, Ibn Baaz, Al-Albaanee and Ibn ‘Uthaimeen
Ibn Taymiyyah said (d.728): “There is no criticism upon the one who makes manifest the Madh-hab of the Salaf, and ascribes himself to it, and affiliates himself to it [by saying: I am Salafi], rather that ascription is accepted from him by consensus for indeed the madh-hab of the Salaf is nothing other than the truth.” (Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 4/149)
Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhaab (d.1206) said: “We are, and praise be to Allaah, followers and not innovators. We are followers of the Book and Sunnah and of the Righteous Salaf of this Ummah, upon the Madh-hab of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah, the Madh-hab that Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ) commanded with.”
‘Abdul-’Azeez Ibn Baaz (d.1420) was asked concerning the Saved Sect, so he responded: “They are the Salafis and all those who proceed upon the path of the Righteous Salaf.”
Muhammad Naasirud-Deen Al-Albaanee (d.1420) said: “There is no doubt that the apparent, clear and distinguishing title is that [when] we say: “I am a Muslim upon the Book and Sunnah and upon the manhaj of our Righteous Salaf,” is that you saying in shortened terms: “I am a Salafi”.”
Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-’Uthaimeen (d.1421) said: “Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah, in belief, they are the Salaf – and even a person of later times until the Day of Resurrection. So long as he is upon the path of the Prophet (ﷺ) and his Companions, then he is a Salafi.” (Sharh al-’Aqeedatil-Waasitiyyah, 8/40 part of his Majmoo’ al-Fataawa)
