Mudug menaces don't mince their words
The only statement of the [true] believers when they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them is that they say, "We hear and we obey." And those are the successful. (24:51)

Juz' 13: Suurah Al-Yuusuf, Aayah 92

-------------------------------------------------------------------

He said, "No blame will there be upon you today. Allah will forgive you; and He is the most merciful of the merciful." [12:92]

Despite them throwing him in a well at a young age and thus losing all contact with his homeland, friends and parents, Yuusuf 'alayhi salaam forgives his brothers for that act and instead of seeking revenge, asks Allaah to forgive them and assures them that no blame shall be upon them

Only a handful are able to forgive being separated from their parents and beloved for years upon years, and then forgiving and moving on like nothing had happened. This month is the month wherein Allaah forgives more. Chances are, our forgivness lies in us forgiving others.

[...]and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. [24:22]

Juz' 14: Suurah Al-'Hidjr, Aayah 49-50

--------------------------------------------------------------

[O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful.

And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment. [15:49-50]

The path of a muslim is the middle path in all affair. One extreme is not believing Allaah will forgive you for a sin/sins you've committed, hence the first verse. Another extreme is feeling secure from the punishment of Allaah and believing there is no chance that one will end up in the Hell fire, may Allaah save us from it.

The path of the Prophets is between those two extremes. Hoping for Allaahs forgivness thus increase in obedience. And fearing His punishment, hence avoiding the forbidden and performing the obligatory.

Make your way the way of the Prophets.

(Sahih International)
Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient.

-Sura Al-Hadid, Ayah 16

Juz' 15: Suurah Al-Israa, Aayah 18-19

-------------------------------------------------------------

Whoever should desire the immediate - We hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend. Then We have made for him Hell, which he will [enter to] burn, censured and banished.

But whoever desires the Hereafter and exerts the effort due to it while he is a believer - it is those whose effort is ever appreciated [by Allah ].

Even those that put all their eggs in this world trying to become "rich" and "famous" or whatnot. Allaah tells us that they will only get what He wants to give. And to whom he wills, meaning you could strive all your life but still b not have anything in your hands.

On the other hand, every person that strive for the Hereafter and do good in this world will, undoubtly, get their reward full.

Allaahs reward is not imaginable to our weak and faulty human minds. It is better than all wa can imagine. Let's strive for that reward in this last half of Ramadaan.

Juz' 16: Suurah Al-Kahf, Aayah 109

---------------------------------------------------------

Say, "If the sea were ink for [writing] the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted, even if We brought the like of it as a supplement."

The days remaining of this blessed month are less than those that've passed. Spend as much time as possible with Allaahs words these last moments.

Juz' 17: Suurah Al-Anbiyaa, Aayah 44

-------------------------------------------------------------

But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? So it is they who will overcome?

Never think that a long life and lots of wealth are what define success. Allaah tells us that these things were given to the non-muslims, both old and present, and that it is not because of the goodness of their action.

Some scholars liken this to the cattles that when they are being prepared to be slaughtered, they're given grass and food. Likewise, the non-muslim may eat good in this world, but ultimately they will face death and there will be no return. Each and every day tons of people leave this world, hence the land is getting reduced from its borders; it will soon reach us. Prepare for that day.

Juz' 18: Suurah An-Noor, Aayah 15

----------------------------------------------------------

When you received it with your tongues and said with your mouths that of which you had no knowledge and thought it was insignificant while it was, in the sight of Allah, tremendous.

The story of the slander against our mother, 'Aaishah, is one we should contemplate on and take lessons from regularly. A single person spread rumours that made a whole nation speculate, some following the crowd and accusing innocent persons for Faaxisha while other abstained until the truth got clear.

Always avoid saying things whose authenticity you are not sure of. It may look insignificant, but be tremendous in the sight of the Most High.

Juz' 19: Suurah Ash-Shucaraa, Aayah 61-62

---------------------------------------------------------------------

And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"

[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me." [26:61-61]

We know as muslims that only what Allaah wills happens. But we, as humans, and specially in these western societies where the material world is considered all that exists, sometimes forget about that fact. The companions of Moosaa where muslims, and so was Moosaa himself. The difference between them where the strenght of their Iimaan.

The Iimaan increases with good deeds, and decreases with bad deeds. If we want to have the same Tawakkul and reliance upon Allah as Moosaa had, we must strive to be as obedient as him. And that is when Allaah will open doors we thought we didn't have the keys for.

Juz' 20: Suurah Al-Qasas, Aayah 84

-------------------------------------------------------------

Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it; and whoever comes with an evil deed - then those who did evil deeds will not be recompensed except [as much as] what they used to do. [28:84]

Allahs grace and bounty know no boundaries. The good deeds are even more rewarded in this blessed month, specifically these last ten nights. As some old somali scholars say "Waxaa khasaaray qofka halkiis ka batay tobankiis". Meaning, the ultimate loser is the one who, despite getting his good actions multiplied by atleast ten, is unable to acquire more good deeds than bad deeds.

Some food for thought.

Juz' 21: Suurah Ar-Ruum, Aayah 1-6

-------------------------------------------------------------------

.الم

Alif, Lam, Meem.
The Byzantines have been defeated
In the nearest land. But they, after their defeat, will overcome.
Within three to nine years. To Allah belongs the command before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice
In the victory of Allah . He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
[It is] the promise of Allah . Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know. [30:1-6]

The story behind these verses are a must to read/listen to in order to fully grasp their greatness. In short, the Byzantines were defeated by the Persians and were eventually encircled in Constantine (todays Istanbul). The Persians, however, did not manage to enter the city. Ceasar of the Byzantines promised the Persians wealth and possession far exceeding what they had. Of course, there were no banks at that time, instead the wealth used to be buried in the ground.

The Persians accepted the promise and made a way for him and and some of his army to bring the gold and silver and whatnot. The Persians were still surrounding the city with almost all the soldiers in the state. Ceaser, instead of bringing what he promised, attacked the cities of the Persians, killed the men and captured the women and children. He continued until he reached the capital and captured the womenfolk of Kisra (the Persian king) himself! He put the son of Kisra on a donkey sending him to his father with a letter saying "there is the wealth I promised".

The Persians, no matter how hard they tried, were not able to invade Constantine. They came to the agreement that Ceaser and his little army would not see their encircled companions again and cut off the only road leading to the city. Ceaser did a manouvre completely destroying the Persian defence; he went with his army to the lake and filled the boats with different materials. He later returned with his army but left the boats with the materials in the lake. Kisra, having heard the manouvre, went with his army to the Lake, and thus Ceaser arrived in Constantine without a fight.

This is what these verses refer to.

Notice how the Qur'aan says "in three to nine years". The non-muslims of Quraysh found it far-fetched that the Byzantines, having suffered so manhy losses and were completely encircled by a far superior enemy, that they would ever rise again let alone doing it in 3 to 9 years (as the word Bid' means in arabic). They made a deal with Abubakr that, since the Qur'aan said within 3-9 years, let's agree on six years. Abubakar agreed and lost the deal. He was told be the Sahaaba "why did you narrow it down to six years when Allah said nine?". The Hadith concerning this issue can be found in Tirmidhi (3194) wherein he also mentions that...

They were defeated within nine years. And upon that, alot of people entered Islam. How couldn't they, when the prophecy that seemed so far-fetched happened exactly as was foretold by the Qur'aan? Subxaan Allah. Take this as a lesson that it is only Allahs plan that will become reality. So make him your ally and your reliance. Indeed, only Him is the Possessor of all might.

[The story can be found in Tafsiir Ibn Kathir]

Juz' 22: Suurah As-Saba', Aayah 15-17

------------------------------------------------------------------

There was for [the tribe of] Saba' in their dwelling place a sign: two [fields of] gardens on the right and on the left. [They were told], "Eat from the provisions of your Lord and be grateful to Him. A good land [have you], and a forgiving Lord."

But they turned away [refusing], so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and We replaced their two [fields of] gardens with gardens of bitter fruit, tamarisks and something of sparse lote trees.

[By] that We repaid them because they disbelieved. And do We [thus] repay except the ungrateful?

[34:15-17]

To be ungrateful to Allaah means misery in this world and the Fire in the next. Being grateful to Allaah means blessings and increase in this world and the Paradise in the next. Choose wisely.

Juz' 23: Suurah Yaasiin, Aayah 68

--------------------------------------------------------------

And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand? [36:68]

Meaning, for those that reach old age. they will become weak as they used to be once in the time. Today is the day we have the ability to sow the deeds of goodness. Perhaps, we may reap them on the Day of judgement.

Juz' 24: Suurah Az-Zumar, Aayah 53

--------------------------------------------------------------

Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

This verse has been called "the most hopeful verse". Not so hard to understand why. Even shirk, which is not forgiven if the person dies while not have repented from it, is included in the sins that Allaah forgives for those who repent in this world. There is no better day for repentance than these last days of Ramadaan!
