Never claimed our ancestors were forcefully converted… I think they were just easily influenced into accepting Islam because they hated the Christian Abyssinians and it was a big f*ck you to them.

Imagine… Savage Arab red eared dessert dwellers created a religion and our ancestors were like “bet… well convert to it too.”
We were one of the only people who willingly converted 🤣 that’s what makes it worse. North Africans, Arabs, and West Africans were culturally genocided and karbashed to become Muslims… but us Somalis just went along with it.

thus started the long millennial process of slow Arabiczation that has incredibly picked up speed in the past 30 years since the introduction of Salafi/Wahhabi versions.

f*ck, the situation wouldn’t even be as bad if our people still practiced Sufism.

Islam is ritualistic.

at least Waaqism is a religion that is authentic and culturally relevant to Somalinimo.

Most of Somali folklore was done by Waaqist , Dhagdheer even Araweelo the Fierce Queen , It seems like women are very much empowered:pachah1:

Imagine giving up on your culture to ride on some Somali-Elite trend of becoming ayrab. These are the same people who cry about what their religion has done to them while also oppressing minorities in the name of their sacred religion. They can destroy the whole country for their religious beliefs, but we get killed the second we utter Ebe WAAQ.
