Parents are cousin and all of my 4 siblings and I are mentally and physically healthy. Welp.
Autism is only prevalence in west so factors could be the environment or food. Not cousin marriage.

If you actually took some time out to analyse and interpret the data you have shared yourself you would find the increase in risks for any of the stated diseases is almost negligible, in healthcare it's all about risks and benefits. a 1/16,000 chance to 2/16,000 chance is a very small increase in risk now if we compare that to the benefits like the accommodating siil of your first cousin if thats what you're into (not judging:ohno:) then benefits definitely outweigh the risk and you can call your adeer/abti to get that ceremony arranged for you.

are you being serious? it's super common amongst somalia's to marry their first cousins.

No one in my family does that (I can't even think of one relative on either sides of my family). Maybe you guys. :nahgirl: In the past, this practice was frowned upon especially inabtis. Even certain subclans weren't allowed to marry since they were seen as too close. Somalis were more inclined to marry further out (in my ends). None of this, weirdness.

if cousin marriage is done for generations genetic diseases become more prone, you're essentially giving your son/daughter DNA from only 2 on both side,s because you and your cousin share grandparents. not enough genetic diversity.

I personally think, the less inbreed the more beautiful.
some where along the line in your family it was probably done, cousin marriage has been popular in Somalia since ancient times, during the kacaan is when it was publicly frowned upon, but after the civil war the trend is starting to make a comeback.

you probably know your abtris but there is no way you know the origins of the wives of you forefathers, thats literally impossible :mjlol:

Yes; I know up to my mother's maternal and paternal great, great, great grandmothers. You guys weren't fortunate enough to remember lineages beyond your father's side or up to your grandparents. Your loss. :pachah1:Perhaps, the customs in my ends were different from yours.

Apart from the yahud and secluded tribes like the Amish no other culture really does that, you have got to remember the gene pool within even a family is actually massive, make a small family tree going back to your granddad and look at how many qabils are involved. This is just scare mongering and an attack on "backwards" Islam, fucking gaalo they should worry about their s and HIV crisis.

'since ancient times', meaning there is a high probability that some of your earlier forefathers had wives that might've been their first cousins. you only know three of your maternal origins, beyond that?
but you can confidently say that for the past couple of generations nobody in your family married their first cousins. :ehh:

I'm tribally mixed after two generations. What is the likelihood they were related? I'm from the Galbeed. Not some landlocked place where they had no other options. :trumpsmirk:The only tribe I have no connection to is Hawiye. We aren't from Somalia proper.

:manny: back in the day every sub sub sub sub clan had beef so it was very common to marry within your immediate family (first cousin).
