Not necessarily, it's more so politics. Unlike you delusional somaliweyn niggas, some of use actually acknowledged the fact that Somalia's political leaders are too far gone to unite the country. Somaliland becoming its own country and leading itself ( which they're already doing) will not only benifit the people of Somaliland, but will also give Somalia more time and energy to focus on defeating al-shabab and rebuilding their region of the land. Why keep holding on to Somaliland when they don't even want to be a part of you? Why not focus on "freeing" ogden and nfd.

You replace Somaliland with your qabiil name and your response is qabiilist vitriol.

Stop using SL as an excuse to push qabiilist rhetoric.

What do you think unites landers if not qabil?

Even if so who cares, you people obsession with Somaliland is outrageous. Worry about your own people and land first before obsessively criticising us, the amount of anti-isaaq threads and comments you lot make is ironic for people who claim to be for somaliweyn.

"Who cares" kulaha. Lander propaganda is all over the internet. The propaganda is all from one tribe that thinks Waqooyi belongs to them.

Not an expert on politics but I'm fairly certain a significant part of Somalia wanting to secede is something to confront. What is "my own people" anyways? Non-landers?

To be fair I don’t think that’s true.
I haven’t seen her degrade other clans specifically.
There are some truly awful people on here you should call them out first.

It’s an exaggeration but I called out every qabiilist on SSpot, even those from my tribe.

Darod ruled the government, the hawiye did a coup and started the war since they wanted a Hawiye cotrolled government, lots of clan fighting, isaaqs declared independence as "Somaliland"(not recognized).

Then al shabaab came along and fucked everything up even more, though that didn't happen till like the late 2000's.

In 2012 the Federal Government of Somalia was oficially formed and is the only internationally recognized government in Somalia. The FGS has been working to regain control of the country from terrorists for a little over a decade now.

Today the war is less about clan fighting and more about everyone fighting al shabaab(they control a large swath of the country but have been pushed out of basically all major cities), though clan skirmashes still happen.

This is a basic explanation and goes over lots of events(like the ethiopian invasion of Somalia, the temporary government set up before the FGS, etc), if I made any mistakes feel free to correct me.

Hawiye didn't start the war, where you getting your info?? LMFAO

There are reasons why he went for northern and north eastern, because they were the first to rebel against him.

"Somalia’s defeat in the Ogaden War strained the stability of the Siad regime as the country faced a surge of clan pressures. An abortive military coup in April 1978 paved the way for the formation of two opposition groups: the Somali Salvation Democratic Front (SSDF), drawing its main support from the Majeerteen clan of the Mudug region in central Somalia, and the Somali National Movement (SNM), based on the Isaaq clan of the northern regions. Formed in 1982, both organizations undertook guerrilla operations from bases in Ethiopia"

That wasn’t a war, that was the Somali revolution.

The civil war started after Barre left, when USC couldn’t form a government and turned on each other.

Somali Civil war started in 1988 when the war on SNM insurgents turned into a large scale persecution of a significant group of the country's population in the North. Only biased people mark the fall of Siad's government as the starting point of the civil war.

For the first time, I find someone who wants a state regime to leave its regions separate to foucus on defeating al-shaydaan.
The separatist regime of Somaliland is a purely tribal system and was established to serve the interests of one tribe and the evidence of the isaaq militias in the (Sool iyo Sanaag) regions and the massacres they committed in an attempt to displace the population.

That’s a seperate conflict, same as the conflict against the SSDF.

That "conflict" fits the description of a civil war. Two common definitions of civil war
We define a civil war as a politically organized, large-scale, sustained, physically. violent conflict that occurs within a country principally among large/numerically. important groups of its inhabitants or citizens over the monopoly of physical force.
A civil war or intrastate war is a war between organized groups within the same state (or country). The aim of one side may be to take control of the country or a region, to achieve independence for a region, or to change government policies.
The war in the North was definitely the starting point of the civil war.

1988-1991(Barre ousted) was simply the first phase of the civil war, 1992-1994(Caydiids death) was second phase, 1995-2000(Abdiqasim enters Xamar), 2001-2005(ICU rises to power), 2006-2009(after the Ethiopian invasion Al-shabaab rises to power) and 2010-2012(FGS established in Xamar).

Somaliland(isaq)want to seccede but the other
4 clans living in somaliland want to remain within somalia,so why is it fair that only issaqs get to have a say, your clearly a qabilist who leans towards issaq,if you weren’t a qabilist you would respect and take into consideration the voices of other inhabitants of somaliland, but you wont
