easy said than done. Where will the Somali government get the money to invest to create employment opportunities? They could barely pay the wages of the soldiers fighting Alshabaab and the public service. How about other institutions like schools, hospitals and local police? Do you know the budget of Somalia in 2020? It’s far less than the budget of my local council. They are very poor and they relying on Somali entrepreneurs to kick start the economy, invest and create job opportunities. Will you?

They get millions but the money goes to waist. Of course i didn’t mean that they should employ every young person in a day but i meant that they should tackle the root causes of these extremist acts. Low skilled labour is best for these people. The government can open factories with the money coming back to the government to pay the workers’ salaries.

Opening a few factories isn’t that expensive and it will protect against al shabab recruitment.

You don’t kill a plant by plucking one leaf at a time, you pull it out from it’s roots.
