Bullshit. My family has been trying to integrate with maadows and no. I’m fourth generation American and I think AA culture is weird. But maybe that’s because my maadow side also doesn’t have the same background as a majority of AAs. I’m pretty sure black people owing 3 mansions and a koi fish pond wasn’t the norm for blacks in Arkansas during the Great Depression.
There's nothing wrong with identifying as black, we are all African descent but we are also Somali with our own culture, language and for the most part religion. I love AA's and I have always had a great relationship with them, some were even closer to me than blood relatives. However, these kids today are confused and hopefully over time they will discover you can be proud of your ethnicity and still fight for what is right, without completely hijacking someone else's struggle as ur own.
