Anyone planning to relocate to Somalia or is everyone too comfortable in the western world?

once I get my degree im going back, I dont know how people delude themselves into thinking if you eat the same food, speak the same language, maybe even if you integrate into their culture that these people will still accept you. you will always be a foreigner to them, someone to always be wary of because of your skin color and religion. made worse by extremists and stupid imans saying things they shouldn't while in a gaalos country. the right wing is also rising a lot in europe which shows in maybe as close as half a decade we won't be welcome here anymore, they will strip you of citizenship and send you back. it will be way worse than trump. leave while you still can
I don’t agree with this. I consider myself an American. I don’t care about stupid MAGAs and what they think. America is an immigrant country. The white people that complain about immigrants are ancestors of immigrants themselves. I’m not gonna let them make me believe im a guest in this country. I don’t need their acceptance. Like how are you gatekeeping stolen land is crazy. Also, idk why yall think that just bc someone shares an ethnicity or religion with you that they’re gonna be kumbaya lol that’s farthest from the truth. Always be wary of people regardless of where they come from. Even your own family can cross you. It’s like you guys want to ignore all the crazy shit that goes on back home just bc you feel out of place in the west.

I use to think like you, I genuinely thought that if I just ignored the racists and lived my life that nothing would change. These people watch hordes of madows and muslims flooding into Europe every month, they see rampant stabbings and crime upticks which are further exaggerated by right wing medias and news outlets. these people will snap one day and I do not plan to be there when it happens. even in USA people are beginning to turn on madows. the fact that so many sympathize and agree with figures such as Kirk and Fuentes should be enough proof where the west is heading in a few decades.

Would not leave the west. if i ever end up having kids. Would relocate them to Egypt. Somalia is an no-no. As long as the civil war goes on. There needs to be an winner

From what I’ve seen a lot of Somalis in Canada lost hope of ever returning after Hodan Naleyeh got killed.

She went back to help her people and those xayawans were still bombing the place 25+ years after the civil war began. Still no peace.

Somalis back home can’t get it together so most of us diaspora will stay right where we are. Better to be a minority than have a poor quality of life (in SL or PL) or have your life in danger (in south Somalia)

I have recently begun working in Mogadishu. While I am not Somali, I have met numerous Somali individuals who have naturalized as citizens in Europe, Canada, and the United States, as well as a similar number of second-generation Somalis born outside Somalia in countries around the world.

I will retire somewhere along the Bari countryside, inshallah.

My whole life has been and will be a long journey toward conquering various demons and challenges so that I can one day retire and build a comfortable little estate by an isolated beach in Bari and relive childhood times with my parents on my father’s estate on the outskirts of Bosaso on the beach.

I’d wake up and first thing I’d do in the morning before even washing my face or brushing my teeth was run out onto the beach and swim, swim for hours with my cousins. We’d return to my mother yammering at us to brush our teeth and eat breakfast, usually omelettes. We’d spend the rest of the day playing with our large assortment of outdoor cats and strays or goats and sheep from the herd and go back to swimming whenever we wished. My dad had household guards and we’d play dice with them sometimes too or just annoy them. Kekekekek.

Sometimes an uncle would drop in and show us how to fish and bring a fish back from the beach to throw into our backyard pond only to whisk said fish out at night for a grilling! At night I’d sit with my parents and cousins in the garden and watch the stars. Bosaso was way smaller back then with very little light pollution at night on account of its size and that they’d often shut down the city’s power grid at night so you saw the ENTIRE night sky. It was breathtaking. We would just watch it for hours while we talked.

That was and is the life.

Will be buying land with my fam and investing in businesses. Nobody is going to build our country for us, we need to do it ourselves instead of squatting in others, at their mercy.
