She's perpetuating the idea that somalis don't think of themselves as black, but arab. That shit is disgusting. All of these kinds of videos on youtube claim somalis think they're above other africans. It is true that many somalis do not identify with the idea of collectively being in a group with other africans called "black" simply because of sharing similar skin tones. However, that does not mean somalis think they're arab or whatever it is they assume. These people are too obsessed with the concept of race, that if a group like somalis disassociate themselves with the concept, they believe we think we're above them because we look different. THEY THINK WE LOOK DIFFERENT, we never say that. These people are living according to an idea created by whites, to give up their unique individual identity. Somalis do not sign up for that. Forget the "cushitic" bull, somalis identify with being somali & that is hard for a lot of other africans & african americans to understand. And the only reason this has become an "issue" now is because there has never been this many somalis outside of somalia, ever, so we are new to people.
