I would choose polygamy however. That is if I get an suffocating mother in law, which is a sign of NPD and a sign that you’ve got a mamas boy farax. Yes the mama needs my respect and farax needs to keep loving the mamo. But if he can’t tell his beloved mother in the wisest way that it’s unreasonable for her to be constantly on her shoulder then his a tad bit gutless and not for me
I’d choose polygamy
However if given the choice between monogamy and polygamy it would be the former. I choose polygamy as long as I'm told from day one and he’s not secretive about it like it’s in fashion with some odhay. I don’t really mind sharing a husband as long as I’m introduced to her and she doesn’t hate me and stuff

When you marry someone, you're kinda sorta marrying their whole family too...so you'll eventually have to learn to get along anyways

You are underestimating the energy someone brings when they are living with you 24/7 and they despise you.
There are some mother in laws who have their own issues but
Take it out on you in a very pass-agg way. Things like “oh why isn’t my son eating, you’re starving him” to outright insulting you to your face and behind your back.
