Much of what you wrote is emotional diarrhea and not factual.
All that you've written is fact free prostration
The west has allegedly been involved in assassinating many politicians outside Africa. The Africans are not unique in that regard.
"Allegedly"? Even the West admits involvement in these assassinations, but you want to entertain their innocence in opposition to all established fact and you accuse others of being emotional?
Leaders are mostly powerless in transforming their nations. It's the people who collectively do.
Leaders are certainly not "powerless" in transforming their Nations - especially at the incipient stage when most of the Nation is illiterate, unskilled and poor.
There's no evidence to suggest Lumumba would have not ended up being a dictator as do many African leaders after being "democratically" elected.
True, and I've already written extensively on the need for independent and robust institutions instead of messianic individuals; on the other hand, we did have an example of material gains with Thomas Sankara.
He died like 70 years ago or something. Stop using that as an excuse for the present situation. Stop mopping around and saying "what if?". Look ahead. Instead, say "what now?"
There's no moping involved in presenting facts that directly contradict your supine presentation of an entirely innocent West and an Africa that is a net recipient of aid. You can no longer speak of aid the way you've been doing up until this point.
The $200B is the price of doing business of a population that is not skilled enough to extract their own resources and build their industries. Nothing is free. Why dont you volunteer for your employer? What knowledge and skills have the local workers gained during this time from their foreign managers?
You haven't presented a single fact in the service of that "price of business" nonsense; Western multinationals are not building industries in the mostly extractive endeavours in Africa; they work in conjunction with militias that force children to mine metals like cobalt and coltan.
It takes only nuance to admit that Africa is being fleeced because of its incompetence, corruption, greed and ignorance instead of pretending that the West is actually sustaining the continent.
Around 99% of the fault is our own and I readily admit to that; but it's nonsense to suggest that the West is sustaining the continent.
Keep blaming whitey for the next 100 years and see where it takes you except only in negative thoughts. You talk about visionaries. You bring up 1 guy from colonial times. Where are these other visionaries in this country of 100 million or something?
It's not about blaming whitey; it's about taking stock of the many weaknesses the continent will have to plug in order to engage with the West and rest of the world in more favourable terms.
Put your head in the sand to historical incidents and you won't conceive of the necessary Institutions to prevent repeats of said incidents; 99% of our challenges are domestic.
I think I now know why you lampoon Somalis for valorizing Arabs and for constructing entirely fictional blood ties to them...
..It's not out of principle, is it? You've concluded that the Arabs are just not worthy of such slavish devotion; no, it's whites that should have been the recipient of all of that.
