Impeachment motions are a predictable part of the political theater in Mogadishu. MPs are bored, corrupt, and have little else to do but try to get some bread crumbs by occasionally trying to impeach the sitting president.
I think the UN agency that wrote the Somalia constitution made a serious mistake by including impeachment in there. It's a power that the largely dimwitted and ill-educated cretins in that pathetic excuse for a "parliament" have neither the brains or judgement to properly use. I bet upwards of 90% of them can hardly read, let alone know how to work a constitutional process.
Farmaajo should pull a Khashoggi on the ring-leaders and return to business as usual. Monkey parliament needs to be ignored, Somalia is too primitive a political entity to even need a parliament.
I suggest abolishing the so-called parliament and replacing it with a ten-person national board of directors recruited internationally to supervise the executive. Experts in economics, law, governance from both Somali and non-Somali backgrounds should be able to apply to this board, which the U.N can appoint through some sort of trustee process.
