True. If you see a standalone jrweyne clan then by definition they cannot be former slaves, because in Somali culture former slaves take the name of the clan that used to own them.
Their are actually former slave shiidle subclans that used to belong to shiidle, but the true shiidle were never slaves
Do they just take the name? Or do they also identify themselves with the clan and accepted by the 'asal' Somalis of the clan, as part of them?
