More to the point, how do you know there wouldn't have been an Islamic revival in our nation in an alternate timeline, had the war not occurred? To make myself clear, I'm not talking about people who see our return to Allah (SWT) as a silver lining of the tragedy, I mean actual idiots who offhandedly brush off the innumerable deaths back then just to give themselves a pat on the back for how on diin they are now.

They take aid from the West, live in Western countries, benefit from Western freedoms and yet they still hate the West & blame them for everything bad that ever happens.
Somalis are practising when it come to the daily salah, fasting, learning and reading the Quran and covering Islamically. But their character never matches the aforementioned. I have been to Mogadishu and currently live in Jigjiga and the Somalis in both, irrespective of qabiil are the absolute worst people I have ever come across. Lying is culture here in Jigjiga, forget keeping promises, stealing, cheating a person, sexual harassment of Somali women by Somali men is the norm and done in broad day light and while on lookers watch because the victimiser knows he wont be punished. And if they are not doing that, some random stranger, if youre a woman will verbally abuse you if slight disagreement occures between the two of you. I have only seen one man appalled by what he had witnessed after a Somali man in a vehicle slapped a Somali womans behind and he was Ethiopian but, the driver got away if he would have done anything.
