5'9 is tall for a girl so of course most average males will only be few inches taller than you since the average for males is 5'10 and from 5'11 to 6 + is tall range.

No my Father at the age of 83 was still 6”3 and my Brother is 41 still 6”4. My Grandfather was 6”7, my Son is 6 ft at 15. So I don’t know what Somali Men some of you have in your Families. Big Up to the short Somalis

Excuse me, I was talking about age as a factor not my male family members per se. They are tall as f*ck btw.
Also the fact both Presidents are from below Mudug (where you find shorter Somalis). Abdullahi Yusuf was much taller.

They're from Bari (east), not Waqooyi (north).
There is a tall gene in my family but sadly it passed me over. All my paternal-side relatives, including the women, tower above 6'. They're tall and quite ruthless too, which is why so many of them are good at business. But the tall gene also came with a 'charcoal black' skintone too, which missed me I'm a lightish brown. Height wise I'm 5'11, not bad but not tall. I'd say more than 2/3rds of Somali guys are my height and many are shorter. I only look short when in a family picture.
As for short Somali presidents, that is true. I think Somalis sort of admire the beauty of tall people but they dont get a leadership post advantage. just my theory.
