Iโ€™m Karanle (Murusade) from Mogadishu. Karanle live everywhere from the Awash to Jubaland and Bay & Bakool and from Galmudug to Negeyle and Sidame. We did loose one of our cities to Oromia. The referendum vote in the 2000s was impacted by the vote of some larger jaarso bordering us to join Oromia which included parts of karanle land in Erer Babile,

We had our own party called DUP since 1983 and we joined the first parliament in the region in 1991, there was a popular coalition that some ONLF joined and the divisions over time that were even more complex forced Addis Ababa to create this puppet jigjiga regime that is closer to it and takes direct orders, it is one of the least independent states in Ethiopia, Abdi Iley was overthrown in a few days and incarcerated compare that to Tigray Oromia and Amhara, they can atleast leave the country and lobby but the Jigjiga regime has no credibility for anyone worthy of their salt to defend it.

Babile and Mieso act as both shared cities and districts, for a short brief. conflict with Oromo started after 1991 Derg collapse, prior to 1991 during Derg and Selassie times Hawiye, Oromos and Somalis worked together as WSLF and SALF, after 1991 ethnic federalism was founded and 9 parties were created, hawiye were mainly part of DUP which merged with ESDL which was like a shadow Irir party of several groups, ESDL stands for Ethiopian Somali Democratic League and called "Leego" in short, it was quite influential in the first four years after Derg collapse because it won majority seats after some ONLF didn't participate in elections, then gradual wider conflict with Oromo and Afar erode the unity and party progress,Hawiye kept their militia from WSLF Ahmed Gurey Front days under the new ESDL/DUP banner, conflict ranged from low volume in the early 90s, to skirmishes in the late 90s before reaching its peak in 2004 with hundreds of houses getting burnt and dozens of federal police and people killed
Thank you for the explanation. Donโ€™t assimilate please we want you guys tell the jarso too lol.

Do you have any more info on this? Articles, books anything tbh

Oromumma or oromo nationalism is the biggest threat to somalinimo. How you may ask? Because this ideology, unlike somalinimo maintains that oromos wether christian, muslim or waaqist are closer to one another than any outsiders. This means that Oromo Muslims who support this believe that oromumma is more important than Islam. Once these guys are finished butchering Amharas we're next on the chopping block

Hence why I suggest that as Somalis we should plant the seeds for an Oromo Civil war; east oromia vs west.
I still got no idea how this could be pulled off so I would love to hear your suggestions.

Wrong on one main factor, You can be a sabona or sabontu proud of your Oromumma, but also hold Islam or what ever religion first. Oromumma is simply to be proud of our Oromoness, speak our language and appreciate our culture. Amharas have scapegoated this term to make it seem like some kind of ethnic political movement.

All I see is a bunch of young Somalis in the diaspora some whom have never met an Oromo spreading random nonsense online lately. You say Muslim Oromos are not real Muslims and side with Christianโ€™s when in reality, you donโ€™t know us. Oromumma began with Hararghe Oromos who were proud of who we are, and didnโ€™t bend like the Shawan Oromos. We created the OLF and that along with Oromumma have been hijacked. Our fight has always been to free ourselves from the habeaha, later on IFLO(Islamic liberation front of Oromia) was created. We who follow Islam stick with it, not everyone is perfect but we do what we can. We donโ€™t side with anyone based on โ€œOromummaโ€. If there is unjust, we will support regardless of faith, if itโ€™s a crazy attack like that of the wollo amharas in a masjid last year in Wallaga, we are 100% against that.

A good example of Muslim Oromos is Boonaa Mohammed. We follow our deen and stay out of the nonsense Ethiopian politics. This is at least with Hararghe. Other regions have different mindsets. Itโ€™s not all kumbaya as you think.

We donโ€™t think of Somalis 24/7 and your land as you like to think. Itโ€™s Ramadan, focus on something better this month, we arenโ€™t it.

Most of these guys are kids between 15-22 who canโ€™t speak a lick of Somali. Many of them come from poor families who couldnโ€™t afford plane tickets to even visit their beloved Somalia, many of whom live in Public housing. They are likely social outcasts in the Western countries they reside in and couldnโ€™t acclimate, they use extreme Somalian nationalism to fill that void for their lack of success in life.

Youโ€™ll see delusional things from these folks talking about genociding Oromos and Habesha and taking their women (rape??). More fearmongering about your folks, ethnic minorities in Somalia and Ofcourse the Isaaq clan of SL.These sick kids shouldnโ€™t be taken seriously, I never do.
