If only Somalia was stable they would have done their business there. The situation in Somalia has failed them.
It's only the south that isn't stable, mainly due to corruption and nepotism, the people have completely given up, one of the reasons al kebab(symptom) is so prevalent.

Once we are growing economically our country could benefit massively from these businessmen scattered across the globe and specially in Africa.

Africas importance in the world stage is growing massively these businessmen over there are a major asset to our people in the future

I think east Africa has become oversaturated if Somalis really want to make a killing they should tap into the west and Central African markets especially in the transportation industries in these regions

We first need to stop asking for handouts, foreign aid is a tool by first world countries to reduce reliance on locally produced food and loans put a strangle hold on nations, making it easy for financial hitmen to wreak havoc, and not rely on loans, we need strategic partners with regional powers like Turkey.

The world is helping us now so they can benefit from our abundant resources and location, it's up to us not to be an easy target.

Recent war in the North negates this point but overall the north has been much more stable then central and southern Somalia.

However, being stable also doesn’t mean just wars. Somaliweyn as a whole experiences political instability, economic fragility and environmental issues.

Most african countries while poor do not have the magnitude of problems that we have. They have corruption and nepotism but economically stronger.

My point, we are fucked but some of them are less fucked.

Right on the money.

Our elites are parasites kept alive by western aid money. No incensitive to develop their own country or for a new elite to replace these fuckers. That incensitive must be created.

I disagree walaal, there is not enough somalis in East Africa. Somalis should swarm these countries, create business and buy land. We could do what we do well now.

There is somalis raising livestock in Tanzania, somalis should take over. In fact, the agricultural minister was somali. Imagine the collaberation

This whole incident brought the MOU, and the biggest L in 30 years for SL.

Any constitution put forward during this period that isn't accessible for voting by ordinary civilians should be temporary and have input from clan elders, regional leaders, big business and politicians.

Any competent leader is usually sidelined or assassinated sadly.

Pre-Civil war there was a significant Somali diasporic entrepreneurs who regularly sent back income and connected business back to Somalia from different African nations , Gulf countries. and India. So it's not a recent trend that's needs to be pointed out.

Somalia being safe for business wouldn't have changed much, people go wherever they find opportunity, work and business connections. It's a by-product of globalization
