The midlands you don’t see the whole picture you need to look at it from a kuumade point of view. Jubaland is not like galmudug where upd can put their man and all the hg elites will be okay with because they’re all part of the upd at least most are in the party. Jilib Marka was liberated by the government in 2014 but lost to Al-Shabab since 2018 until now there has been constant fighting for control over this village

The stabilization of Gendershe, Dhanane and Jilib Marka effects the security of Banadir region. The government has been fighting a mouse and cat war with Al-Shabab in this area to decrease their influence in xamar’s security.

The road to Baraawe is filled with IEDs and the city itself is only accessible through plane or by boat as Al-Shabab controls the road to Buulo Mareer & Qoryooley. Another issue is that a Major Al-Shabab stronghold called Kurtunwareey is located in this region. Is the central Government willing to risk a one sided war just so that they can be closer to the coastal areas of JL???

Remember 5000 soldiers are not immortal. There is always casualties and difficulties in war.

The difference is that Eastern Hiiraan is not a major Al-Shabab stronghold like Jilib for example. You can plow through as many Shabaab as you want but they still continue to operate in Beerxaano,Tarjante, and just recently the qarax in Maxaas. The Hawiye & Gaaljecl tribes in western Hiiraan don’t want to pick up their weapons to liberate the lands. The Hawadles are being attacked and prisoned by Shabaab daily because they chose to rebel.

if Jubbaland state is given the resources to hold Jamaame town and move towards Kamsuuma bridge to establish a logistical hub then Jilib will fall followed by Bu’aale. In Jilib you can establish a new frontline if the operations are bogged down by bad weather or other issues.
