I mixed it up. I was not talking about the civil war itself but what lead on into the political field. Once Caydiid died in 97 then Tuur left. He was in Xamar until Caydiid until passed then Ali Mahdi took over a while later and Tuur left. Possibly in fear of his life for picking sides.

HJs MPs voted for candidate Faratoon in the speaker position elections. If I recall correctly, all their votes except for 1 went to Faratoon rather than the opposition candidates. Xirsi can't even get HJ politicians to back him despite being the chairman, forget the HJ voter base.
