Somaliland won't ever get its recognition without Somalia getting its shit together first. In the modern era you need formal recognition from the state your succeeding from for your secessionist cause to be taken seriously.
Eritrea and South Sudan are both examples of this even though they were and still are complete hellholes they were given a shot at independence due to the above while states like Kosovo and Taiwan are in limbo.
There's no point of having these ictraaf talks until the south is stabilized.

We Eritreans are with Somalia. When we fought for our independence US UK and the soviets stood with Ethiopia. After Eritrea’s independence the whole world turned against us as whole when they supported Ethiopia during rhe 1998-2000 border war and after, when eritrea rejected the 2006 invasion in Somalia by the Ethiopia/TPLF they sanctioned and isolated my country for 10 years.
