Yemeni guy goes to Somaliland and makes a very disrespectful video after his visit.

There are a few other places other than SL in the Somali peninsula where a Somali fleeing war would be rejected and Arabs allowed in. You guys love this fence sitting “all Somalis do this”, but that is not the reality when you travel across Somalia. You literally have many interviews where the locals were openly saying that Ethiopians were closer to them than other Somalis. Again, this kind of sentiment is very hard to find amongst other Somalis.

Do you see other Somalis on Israeli tv?

Perhaps it comes down to people and somalia goverment refusing to let these people go clearly they don’t wish to be part of somalia. So why hold on to it. I believe if they get their wishes. There will be a gradual cooperation and a healthy union in the future

i dont understand. even isaaqs live in somali galbeed and they just leave them to the wolves? cajiib weeye.

Anyways I'll say this , don't jump on me.
I believe all immigrants should be treated well and with human dignity. Having said this as Somalis we have a clear tier list of immigrants and behavior towards them changes according to nationality.
If this man was Oromo and said this the reaction would be 10X harsher. There are Oromos who get heat without actually doing anything wrong.Arabs in Somalia get preferential treatment compared to Oromos who are pretty much our cousins or other African nationalities. I'n perfectly aware that oromo immigration is different from the smaller yemeni/Syrian but still I sense some ''ana carab '' complex from some people in the way they treat these different communities
Out of all the issues that plague modern Somali society, I really don't think treatment of foreigners is a big issue. Somalis already unconditionally accept Arab and Oromo refugees and let them work small time jobs. They is hardly any major mistreatment or racism going on either.

In a continent rife with ethnic tension and discrimination, Somalia easily ranks amongst the being the nicest to foreigners. That isn't to say there aren't any problems with how Somalis treat immigrants but its not an issue worth addressing given how ethnic Somalis sometimes get treated within their own country.
