You literally have many interviews where the locals were openly saying that Ethiopians were closer to them than other Somalis. Again, this kind of sentiment is very hard to find amongst other Somalis.

Perhaps it comes down to people and somalia goverment refusing to let these people go clearly they don’t wish to be part of somalia. So why hold on to it. I believe if they get their wishes. There will be a gradual cooperation and a healthy union in the future
