living off borrowed time
Would you say it's a good place for a student to live in?I went there actually twice. Once for work, and once during my uni days. During uni days, it was part of a mini east european tour. Never stayed there longer than two nights. Nice architecture, I like the high ceiling. You should try their lentil soup. The restaurants and hotels were cheap.
Sofia is quite empty for a large city. We are really judgemental, we already have an opinion before we even go there. The bulgarians you see in west europe, are not the stereotype bulgarians. The ones we see are the gypsies and the rural area bulgarians. You'll most likely interact with the middle to higher income ones. Bulgaria is surrounding by many countries, so irs easier to travel as well. You should take the bus to Serbia and then travel to Sarajevo, very beautiful location. You can take a night train to Istanbul. Overall nice experiences
