@Sheikh Kulkuli
you wasted 2 devastating nukes on a irelevent thread.
Harar is Ethiopia and Adal wasn't just Somali, it's disingenuous to say it was a Somali empire. It disregards the other Ethiopian muslims that contributed to the empire
Harar was conquered barely before the 20th century. Hararis themselves wanted to join somalia. we're claiming nothing.

These amhara plan to deny and negate somali history has been a plan since the time of Haile selaise he was spearheading the notion of rejecting nationhood of Somalis and wanted to sell his idea that somali were a bunch of nomads and should be incoporated into Ethiopia as an ethnic group like oromos and be led by Amhara. This idea was rejected by UN when they gave Somalia independence in 1960.Justvtwo years after Somalia independence Haile Selasie decided to invade Somalia and turn it into a desputed Ethiopian occupied land.Ethiopia was defeated and Ethiopian troops defeated much to the shock of Europeans who were puzzled by how a country 2 years old would defeat Ethiopia an empire " 3000 years old".
Even if Somalia forfeits Ogaden region Ethiopia will always try to destroy Somalia and incoporate it into the greater Ethipia project a vision left by menelik dream of controlling all horn of Africa till the indian ocean coast.

take this with a grain of salt but the SNA was build within a year before independance compared to the Ethiopian army who underwent rebuilding and modernisation under british advisor since the 1940s. Only Somalis could destroy Somalia.

Adal wasn't exactly 'Somali'. It was multi-ethnic. many Muslim ethnicities participated in the campaigns including Somali, Afar, Hadiye, Aderis etc.
You expect an empire to be 100% homogeneous? It was a Muslim Somali empire comprised of Somalis and other ethnic groups. But still it was mainly Somali.

As I said there is nothing called Ethiopia before Haile Selasie came to power . It was modern Abysinia (house of Shewa-Low caste Amhara claimming to be of Solomonic ancestry).

Modern Abysinia under Menelik looted and ransacked Harar i ln1890s using the british and french assistance.
Harar was part and parcel of Adal empire.

No amount of plagiarising history will make the fake amhara history stand out.
Also stop pretending to be somali.
You are probably @xabashi using different username.
Call yourself Tedessa.

You're saying I'm Ethiopian because you know you're wrong

adal was started by somali tribes and it was predominately somali with afar, harari & arab minorities. so it’s really not disingenuous to say it was a somali empire.

It is because it was more than a Somali empire, it encompassed multiple ethnicities and brought them together as one Muslim empire. Reducing it to a Somali empire is silly.

Well it was a Muslim SOMALI empire. It's quite clear you are XABASH larper pretending to be Somali

Both the Abyssinian and the Adal kingdoms were not a one ethnic kingdoms and the war was a religion war between different ethnic groups on both sides and since most of the peoples on both sides and the battle fields are inside the current Ethiopia, most Ethiopians see the war as a civil war between Muslim and Christian Ethiopians (I'm not saying that is historically sound but that is how we see it).

To try to read the current ethnic and clan based mentality back into history and make those kingdoms as a one ethnic kingdoms is disingenuous to say the least. It seems during the 77 war the Siad Bare regime used the Abyssinian-Adal war to brainwash many Somalis to create a nonexistent myth that Ethiopians and Somalis were enemies and were fighting for centuries. This narrative and "history" is unknown for majority of Ethiopians and even though our royal chronicles recorded the war live. There is simply no "Somalis vs Habeshas" narrative. It is unknown for us.

That is why when Somalis many times claim Somalis and Ethiopians were fighting for centuries many Ethiopians are clueless and start to scratch their head saying like wtf are they talking about? For majority of Ethiopians there is no such thing and no history of Ethiopians and Somalis fighting for centuries. That just doesn't exist and the only real war they know with Somalia/Somalis is the 77 war. Leaving the history aside for historians, it is clear we are not on the same page on this one.

The reaction of most Ethiopians when Somalis claim they have been fighting Ethiopia for centuries :ftw9nwa:

I think we can consider Adal Ethiopian tbh. To say it has nothing to do with Somalis is false though. Wouldn't say it was a Somali empire though
The borders of Adal include modern day Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea and Ethiopia. To consider Adal Ethiopian but not Somali (Even though modern day Somalia was apart of it and Ethnic Somalis made huge contributions to it) is false and reveals your inferiority complex.

anwser this simple question: did somalis fight on the side of the adal empire against Christian Abyssinia?

Of course that is not up for debates. The same way other ethnic groups like Hararis played also a significant role but most importantly they all were fighting for their religion not ethnicity or clan. We should not change a historical religion war into an ethnic conflict. That is just reading the current mentality back into history. Besides, most of the then Somalis, Hararis and other ethnic groups now live in the current Ethiopia.

abyssinia was a mountain fiefdom much smaller than the current colonial project called ethiopia. the modern day ethiopia borders is due to @xabashi being colonial footsoldiers descending from the mountains.
