IMO, no. I’d prefer a low-maintenance woman. They’re more likely to be loyal when the marriage hits a rough patch and it’s more satisfying to spoil them. I’m not sure as to what qualifies as a high maintenance man.

In all honesty, I don't think men care about women being high-maintenence as long as she has a good attitude and is respectful towards him. I've seen and heard of far to many cases of men becoming rich and dropping the average low-maintenance wife for a young beautiful woman who has never lifted a finger to help him.

Basically, men will claim to 'love' low-maintenance women when their funds are low. They treat these women as stepping stones so that they can marry the women they view as 9s and 10s. The women who would never look their way when they had nothing.

This isn't a topic a lot of men want to be honest about. But life has provided many examples. Also many of you guys know that the women you guys lust after aren't women who would look your way if you're not earning much.

I believe that deep down, many men don’t respect and value low maintenance women. Also, many trade in that so called “down to earth” woman for a high maintenance one as soon as they level up and make bank. It’s a tale as old as time.

I don’t see any benefit for a woman to present herself as a low maintenance person. She’ll end up getting burned and will become resentful when she doesn’t get what she wants out of the relationship.

It also costs money to look good. Skincare, nutrition, dental hygiene and work, good clothing, high quality makeup, exercise, money for hobbies etc. These are investments.

High maintenance can come with a lot of buuq. I wouldn’t be able to handle all of that tbh. My bidaar is bad enough as is.

But most are though lool. They lack balance. If they’re good looking, they’re lazy and skate off their looks and don’t have an ambitious drive. Most of the well-to do Somali men (Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers) are average looking, and I’m putting that nicely.
